So this seems like a pretty unique issue and I cannot find anything on it. I’m taking it into the dealer next week but I want to have a pretty good idea of what could be going on out or preparation but also pure curiosity.
Car only has 4K miles on it. Completely stock except for an RMM. Lately, in between gears when shifting, both when depressing the clutch pedal and releasing the clutch pedal, I feel a vibration in the pedal, almost like the piece below where you actually put your foot is rubbing against the floor. However, I know it is not that, because when the car is not in gear, the pedal feels completely normal. However, as soon as I am in 1st and got 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd and so ok, I feel it. It almost makes the pedal throw feel heavier as well and it’s worse in higher gears.
Any ideas what this could be? Throwout bearing? Input shaft bearing? Pilot bearing? Warped clutch disc? Slave/master cylinder?
I was thinking it was either a pressure plate issue but the car being so new, I didn’t know if that was possible. My other thought then was something in the clutch hydraulics.
I’m interested to hear your opinions.
