Is the coating worth doing on Crossover Pipe

Guys,

I am going to ordered a crossover pipe from Whoosh and one of the options is to get it heat coated. Would there be any benefit to doing that? Since the pipe is aluminum and I am sure doesn't resist heat as good as the plastic one I am taking off was thinking this would be a good thing? Has anyone on here choose that option and if so what do you think?

It would be beneficial for people like me and many others who installed an aftermarket downpipe and did not reinstall the heat shield (pita to reinstall). Gets too hot to touch after a long or hard drive. I put gold tape on my crossover and it made a difference in the temp of the pipe, I can rest my hand on it now.

i also did the head treatment. I'm now worried about trying to gold wrap it around a wrinkle finish

I used DEI gold tape on my wrinkle black and its held up nice. If I were to do it again I would use a little spray adhesive, its starting to peel up around the valve cover bracket

Same. Purchased April 7th. This time has allowed me to prep for the install. Purchased new gaskets and bolts to replace the OEM. These items purchased and shipped within days. I am stoked to get the email that the downpipes have shipped

If this was an option I missed it when I bought mine. Been wanting to to do the gold tape ever since. Not really worried about it but its in a "hot spot" for sure. The gold tape is down the list on the "I am bored let me blow $40 and tinker" list.

My wrinkle black pipe still looks new after almost a year FWIW.

I was hoping that the coating would work like the tape and keep some heat out.
