My previous 2 projects gave me a lot of fun but i really miss the pocket rocket feeling on the twisties, until this day the Mini Cooper S R53 is the only car i regret selling it π
It was done from A to Z, engine, suspension, brakes, interior and in the end was a superb machine that would put to shame a lot of cars on the mountains...
From Meister R Gt1, Stop-Tech St-40, Tvs 900 Supercharger Kit, Quaife LSD, Head Work, Meth, it was really something else β₯οΈ
The 335i went in the same process , from Pure Stage 2 HF, Helix Overdrive, Lpfp, E40, Ohlins Dfv, Inlets, Outlets, Brembo GT, it was a Beast but that stil gave you a big smile on your face while having fun on the b-roads π
I studied both platforms the best i could and took around 3 years to complete the Mini and 2 years to complete the 335i (are they ever finished? π) and i've started to study the Fiesta St just 2 or 3 weeks ago although the car as been on my mind for a few years...
In the next couple of weeks (covid-19) i'm going to pick up a St2 with only 53.000km's which has upgraded brakes π₯° and R Sport CAI + Bluefin Stage 1 so i've been wondering what to do 1st on the project and goes as follows:
1- Lsd
2- Suspension
3- Performance
On Lsd + Suspension i have my own preferences and know which path to go for concerning also bushings, motor mounts, camber plates, arbs, etc
Performance wise i've been reading a lot but with no definite conclusions yet and here is where i really need the expertise and advice from the community π
Been looking at the Stage 4 Gtx2860R from Peron but also for the Turbo Technics S280 kit...
Unfortunately i can see that on this platform it gets to a point where Direct Injection can't cope with fueling starvation anymore which is understandable...
Fortunately both the R53 and the N54 and the St can double the horsepower easily by having strong engine blocks π€Έ
On the Mini i only had Meth to reduce Iats but on the BMW i had a Helix Overdrive Hpfp + Stage 3 Lpfp so i didn't had the issues of using Port Injection or Meth, just Direct Injection for all the power you could ever need which was amazing!
It's a shame we can't have upgraded injectors + hpfp + lpfp instead of aux fuel/and or meth to give higher power...
Saying that i'm aiming at 380bhp and looks like that's not feasible without aux fuel, is that correct?
Concerning the turbos if i go S280 which manifold do you recommend?
I like linear/progressive power delivery so hybrid is still a option but looks like big turbos go well on these cars and also prevents wear on the engine due to lower boost levels...
I can get access to Etanol which i used a lot on the Bmw but looks like that it doesn't work as well on the St because of the OEM fuel system...
All opinions, comments and ideas are more than welcome and i'm very thankful π
