It's bigger and heavier than the base Yaris, so even if it is only front wheel drive, it still will most likely NOT make up that weight difference of the Yaris GR having a (light) AWD system, so even with the same power levels (and less traction of course), it will be substantially slower than the hot Yaris.

Looks like it's as big(ger) than the Focus. Where is it slated to be manufactured or assembled?

Unfortunately that only matters if we have the option for both in the first place. The Corolla GR is a whole hell of a lot more likely in the states than the Yaris GR

...or even smaller/lighter, but with equal or MORE factory powah... [wink]
Yes indeedy... although the size is just right for me. I like how I can just put the rear seats down and easily load-up all four OEM wheels with mounted tires, then still have room for a completely new set of tires.

Like I said....we just might get lucky. Hopefully Toyota Paint is better!

How much is this thing going to weigh, even without an AWD system??
The current model is 3060lbs with the manual and four cylinder. There is only some weight offset from going to three cylinders but adding the turbo, plumbing, and intercooler. Hopefully it's not much above 3100

Will that extra 400-500 lbs. offset the power differences between our factory stock rides, and this Toy, as far as acceleration performance goes? [dunno]

If you calculate the weights at 2720 and 3100, the Toyota has a better power to weight ratio than the Fiesta ST.

The Focus ST weighs 3223 lbs and makes 252 HP.
