I should have the Coolerworx arriving next week, if the bellcrank nubs hold up I will be happy, if not, it’s easier to order a pre-packages solution than it would be to improve it on my own, so I will contact you. Or perhaps have one of those hood lift fittings ready to install, looks beefy if there’s enough material for larger threads, and I can probably make slight changes on the lathe if needed. Looking forward to it.

What’s going on here? Why not machine a boss to raise up this area if you’re going through this much trouble to cut a steel linkage?
The ball studs need to be a specific length as to not make contact with the shifter housing so I cut them with a cut off wheel. Not sure I follow your alternative. You circled the end of the ball stud.

Nothing can protrude from the linkage on that side. Are you talking about making the thread not "through all" and leaving some material so you can't see the end of the ball stud? If so, I could see that being a good idea for superficial reasons, but it also means you won't have quite as much thread engagement which is not ideal.

No, raise the other side with a boss instead of spacer (or extra nut in case of the manufacturers solution). The threads would extend into the boss of course, don’t be silly.

The roughly cutoff part short and threads left I engaged is circled, and there’s a spacer on the other side.

But no big deal, was trying to be helpful. Good luck!

You're being helpful, I just didn't understand what you were saying. Not sure what I said was silly though?

Definitely a valid option having a boss where you mention. Likely won't add it as I like the extra security of using a lock washer when possible. I used red loctite as well for the ball stud installation.

I’m having trouble getting the RH collar to retract, is this normal? The LH collar went into a different place and the RH collar is secure further back in its place, let me know what’s going on here. I never did find those Coolerworx instructions.

I think you have it right. Photo attached of mine.

Thanks... weird, RH side collar does not seat inside the frame and stays retracted.

I see why the upper LH nub breaks off like yours did... there’s no mechanical stop on the shifter for fore and aft, so the linkage takes all the force through the cable and the nub to stop the lever travel.

Yeah I think I remember them locking in differently. And correctamundo!

Like uninstall/reinstall? What was different about the second unit?

nothing that i can see. I may just loosen and re-tighten how the cables are mounted. Mine shifts are very tight, the other one feels almost stock.

Tried adjusting the length of the linkage. No dice. I played with the physical lever on the transmission, mine seems to be very tight, it doesn't want to move as freely as the other car I put this thing into. Perhaps its my selector lever.

I’m guessing this probably isn’t a good product for the car. I honestly wouldn’t say it’s that good for the European version either(why would you bolt that thing down before installing the cables???). I haven’t seen an update from that guy either.

Wut? It’s probably the best modification I’ve done to the fiesta thus far.
