In a word no. the height is in the actual seat frame itself. I have looked into and if you are adventurous and good with a welder you could possibly lower the seat frame but its not a small undertaking. As you would actually be shortening the support structure for the base pad that Recaro built for the seats to bolt up to the frame rails.

Our frame rails are actually pretty low as it is. When Ford did the MK8 in Europe they specifically had Recaro redesign it to sit lower in the car due to complaints from the FiST community over there.

nope will bolt to our seats.

could you use the base model frame with the recaro back and bottom?
base model frame is prettty much the same I inspected both off the car. The base seat pad is about an inch or so thinner than the Recaro seat pad. You cannot get around doing a cut and weld job so to speak.

I recall tall miata owners would do a foam-ectomy and shave a inch or two out of the seat, so their head wouldn't get wind burn..
Fiesta has plenty of head room but I hear some people don't like sitting higher in the car.

a lot of us would like to sit a bit lower I am not about to shave the height of my Recaro cushions to achieve it. They are awesome do not want to mess with that area of the seat lol.

I don't mind where I sit except that the rearview mirror won't articulate enough to get the view out the back the way I'd like it. It needs to be able to lower the stalk and angle up more.

@SteveS the rear view mirror is kind of an issue with me as well with stock seats. If I angle the mirror so the rear window is perfectly centered. I can see about 10 to 15 car lengths back.. If I want to see the horizon, I have to angle it so I see about 30% ceiling and 70% glass. Its an issue with the roof sloping down. Plus the head rests need to be folded down.

Exactly the problem I have. It would work if you could tilt the stalk to lower the whole mirror, then angle the glass up to see out the window. But it won't angle high enough.
