The Mountune UK IC (PRO Alloy) is a tube and fin design, and the Mountune USA is a bar and plate. I first purchased the Mountune USA IC and realized it was a bar and plate even though the website says tube and fin (thanks for backing me up). I had difficulty installing the USA IC, but was eventually able to fit it (just my experience). It’s not a difficult install and does not take a large amount of mechanical ability. It just did not fit and seemed like the core was a inch or so to wide.

I purchased the Mountune UK IC (PRO Alloy) after the fact in hopes it was different and as advertised. It is in fact a tube and fin design. The reasoning, I was concerned about air passing through the IC to the radiator. This is why I choose the tube and fin design.

Ya I thought I was getting a Tube and fin only to discover it was bar and plate. I too was concerned about air pass through to my radiator.
I am really a fan of tube and fin.

I would love to have the Pumaspeed R sport Pro 300 core as its Tube and Fin and tested to support over 300 whp its about $560 shipped.

Though Mountune USA does sell the bar and plate with their big turbo kit. So I am running it for now. I also have a Mountune radiator as well so I am not to concerned about water temps or overheating at this point,

I was under the impression their newer design was tube and fin.

From their website-

“Using a 7-row extruded fin core with inner-fin tube design gives a massive improvement in both Air Charge Temperatures”

Just FYI i had to cut my mountune hoses about 1" on each side to make sure it fit without kinks.

Ya that is the promo info for the old intercooler that came from Pro Alloy and is sold in the UK still. They figured out it was too small for the NA climate extremes and switched to a bar and plate setup.

Only change needed for my CPE and most other aftermarket IC is removing a small bracket that is not really needed below the stock IC. Other than that fit was perfectly snug.
'Not 'really' needed'...... imho, it should be there. I have seen others cut a notch into the plastic so they can still use it. I didn't like that. I saw others just bend it downward. I didn't like that. I did something better. I used my dremel tool and elongated the mounting hole so it sits a smidge lower. I can easily fill it in if I go back to stock and it supports everything as it should! BOOM! lol

Depo Racing fits nice.

This was from their US website of their current IC, though. Do you think they just failed to update it?

I went for a Depo IC for my 2016. Price was right, install was easy, fit was great, and it works well with my Dizzy stage 2 tune.

Not really a fan of how my CP-E fit. I had a mechanic install mine and he had to trim down the plastic surrounds a bunch. Then, the intercooler grille prevents the bumper from going back on right because the endtanks are too prominent. No one notices the slightly off fitment except me, but it drives me crazy. The nose droops a couple of millimeters. I might get a Whoosh V1 and sell the CP-E.

I don’t think I know lol. Why because like you when I ordered my FB3 package it said that. When I got the intercooler in the package it ws clearly Bar and Plate . When I went to the Spring Mountune meet the same language was on the website then as now and I asked them and they were like oh no we switched to Bar Plate.
On top of that I bought my FB3 package just over a year ago,
So no they have not bothered updating the website.
