AP Racing CP9200 315mm Big Brake Kit

They have finally arrived all the way from the other side of the Atlantic!

Purchased this custom AP Racing kit made by Reyland Motorsport a couple weeks ago and I can't wait to put them on and review them for you guys. I went with this kit in particular because after frying my brakes twice and having some frustrating moments on the track I wanted an upgrade and what better upgrade than something completely overkill! Well, not really, I went with this kit in particular because (I mean come on they look amazing!) and the CP9200 calipers have piston boots so sand, salt and snow will not be as much of a problem as opposed to most other big brake kits without boots. Also they might be able to fit under 16" rims so I wanted the biggest kit I could do without compromising the ability to put a bit more rubber in between the rim and the road. I'll post more updates on the installation as well as my thoughts on the road performance and eventually I'll take it to the track to really test them out!

if they clear the Dekagrams, I'm in.
I'm probably going to go with the Dekagrams. I'll see if I can test fit them anywhere but I'll definitely get some measurements when they're installed.

Update: Brakes installed and I've been driving on them for a week. The install was very easy, everything lined up perfectly and there was no need for instructions, it was obvious which way everything went. Brake feel is amazing now, the pedal is much firmer and responsive without being touchy. Brake performance is also improved by a huge margin, with the Ferodo 2500 pads the initial bite is insane and they keep on grabbing. Haven't been on track yet but I can't wait to test them out there. Here are some pics after the install.

No spacers required to clear the stock wheels correct?

Unfortunately they needed 20mm spacers, the calipers are pretty wide.

Fitment info time!

Okay so the max envelope from the center of the wheel to the farthest top of the pad retention bolt is going to be about 7in or 178mm.

From the face of the disk bell to the farthest part of the caliper it will be 1 7/16 in or 37mm.

If you want to test fit them, print out AP Racing's installation profile for their kit from here https://www.apracing.com/drawings/P16.293.pdf and trim the top down by 7.5mm and add 4mm more to the vertical edge facing out then cut it out of the paper. I can post pictures if needed. But those with Dekagrams see if these will work, I'm really interested in getting a pair.

I asked reyland and they don't have a template but I'll post some pics for clarification.

4mm added to vertical top won’t clear the spokes by the barrel, but 2mm will. Go back and remeasure and cross fingers :cool: Contour of the caliper is hard to factor in, in relation to the wheel/spokes, so I kept it ~2mm across on the template. This is what clears.





template is 100% scale.

Okay so I remeasured and unfortunately the spots after the opening for the brake pads are higher than the hole for the retaining bolt. The new measurement for the max vertical length from center of wheel is 178.685mm +/-0.5mm. I used a caliper this time to measure so it is more accurate as well. Would they clear the spokes with a small spacer or is the barrel too small as well?

The 178.7 should be fine, it’s the the other measurement for 4mm. How accurate is that? It might clear, depending if that number is not accurate and where the high point is located in relation to the wheel/spoke. But a spacer 3-5mm if you must should be no problem.
