BravoAlpha looks like a tremendous value, but I’m looking to use a factory fit FMIC
It is a factory fit intercooler. Even some of the factory fit intercoolers require trimming it all depends on your bumper fitment.

I was under the impression that you had to remove the top intercooler shield?

Either way, it’s over my budget.

I mean it's less then 100$ more then a v3 and I'm pretty sure I had to remove my uppershield for my v2 anyhow that thing was a squeeze and a half, who cares tho.

I mean, it’s not like $100 is nothing...
I mean in the long scheme of things it's nothing when you look at how much it takes to go fbo and hybrid. It's much better to spend up front and be happy then spend a small amount less and not be happy with the results. If you thing 100$ is something when it comes to cars then I don't think modifying is for you lol.

Lol, I’ve got a California mortgage and 2 toddlers in preschool. Every dollar counts!

Besides that, I can’t imagine I’d be unhappy with a V3, and if that can save me some cash, then great.

Lol I'll sell you my v2 which is the same as the v3 minus the end tanks which make no difference.

Agree

This is just a Whoosh V1 / Depo intercooler with a different logo.

Get a Bravo Alpha or Whoosh V3 to withstand the heat.
Seems promising. I don't like to buy hard parts twice.

I had to remove the factory mounting for the "factory fit" FMIC, this unbolts and is reversible. I also had to cut some of the lower wind deflector off so that it would fit under the intercooler, this piece is separate from the bumper and can be replaced if you need to replace it. Otherwise it went right on.

If you're going to go big turbo and do anything besides the ocassional pull / race then you'll need something larger than factory fit (unless its a V3/CPE)

welp, glad i am running a CPE, good enough for a long while.
For stock turbo and big turbos running moderate power its probably good enough. For hybrids or big power probably not.

Nope, nothing crazy. I've gone down the motor build path before and had a bad experience. Baby big turbos and stock motor is all I will do for this car.

With the concerns of the underspec’d radiator/cooling of the car, do you think the bigger BA FMIC hinders radiator performance at all?

Hybrids? You'll need a CPE or equivalent. Hybrids make more heat than true big turbos.

I have a Mishimoto, but I don't see any temperature variance with the BA on it. Its not any higher than it was before. So I can't imagine it would be different with stock.

I'm talking about the S280 or gtx turbos. Medium? Big is subjective. Hybrids aren't any larger than stock from what I understand.

This intercooler / whoosh v1 / etc wont support something like a VT330R / S280 / equivalent. I know this from first hand experience.

By support I mean consecutive pulls. It would be fine for daily driving and little abuse. But once you start getting hot, it won’t be able to cool down.
