Who wants peak torque right off the bat? Roll racing in 2nd gear much lol? You’re looking at numbers and have no idea what real world useable power is or feels like. Your opinions are based on what? I wouldn’t trade my setup for anything other than a proper twin scroll with a similar powerband just for the sake of more efficient exhaust flow. Why you keep chiming in with opinions based on opinion is baffling.
It's called driving around town dude so yeah i use 2nd gear alot.

Kinda silly how this thread have deviated multiple times from his intended creation, sharing information on the s280. Less silly things that really dont matter (pff mrx...) and more s280 info boys
I guess I'll haaaaaaaaveeeeeee to buy it and report back

You need peak torque in second gear to drive around town? Lol

Yeah the low end torque of this car is what makes it peppy around town, hence why the stock turbo makes peak torque around 3500. Why do you think hybrid turbos are so popular.

The overload of information about this turbo overwhelming. It’s like an avalanche. Youll be okay buddy

Mostly because of ignorance about real turbos in general I suppose.

"Real turbos" lolol dude we're taking about a fiesta right now. It's supposed to be a fun little go cart. Even with a big turbo the car isn't fast. Go drive an actual big turbo car then talk about real turbos.

I have the whoosh hybrid tuned on 91 (nothing higher is available in CO) ill be going on a dyno (dyno jet ) in a week to see what shes making then get her retuned for 91 if improvements can be made and also getting an E30 tune aswell ill post them when i have them but regardless of numbers im in love with this turbo .... also im at 6000ft elevation
I'd be interested in those numbers when you get them. You have a bigger altitude issue than me! Did you consider the S280, or was it not available at the time? I am not looking for an absolute hp figure like say 300 whp. I'd like to get a 80 to 90 hp gain over whatever it is I have now.

Not sure if it makes a difference, but I live 2000 ft above sea level and most my driving is between that and 5500 ft. All else being equal which turbo would work best at altitude on 93 octane....the Whoosh hybrid or the S280? Or does it matter?
It probably does, need more air volume to make power. I guess the bigger turbo would be the best bet

If that's true thats pretty solid but most charts I've seen aren't really close to that.

I'm actually looking to attempt to go to a dyno soon, Last time I went peak tq was actually around 4500rpm, because of a huge boost leak. Since then fixed all the little bugs and had a slight re-tune which fixed the spool. The peak boost actually comes in 500 to 600rpm sooner now

it wasn't available when i got the whoosh but either way i wanted a true bolt on turbo and also wanted to keep the character of the car in tact i like having all my low end torque maybe in the future ill upgrade to an actual big turbo upgrade but thats IF i build this engine first, also dont want to go aux fuel ive already spent enough money on the car performance wise and like @wetwea33 said even with a big turbo these cars are still not gonna be the fastest.. i know other fiestas up here that are pushing high 280's wheel with a pumaspeed hybrid and others over 300 so your 80 to 90 hp gain is definitely possible ... got it in october 2017 im currently sitting at 13.7k miles so im in no rush !

So it should generate less heat than something like an X47R and VT330R? I only ask this because my friend with the VT had to put meth in his car to maintain temperatures.
Just to be clear... I didn't have to add meth to keep the temps in check. I just needed an FMIC that wasn't a cheap Chinese core. The CPE's Delta Core is keeping up perfectly, as it has been through actual R&D development. The meth is injected post temp senor, thus my charge temps are not influenced by the meth injection. I am actually using meth for dual purposes of cooling and and additional fuel source. I never got around to going aux fuel, so I am still limited by fueling.

As for everyone's comment about blankets, I am running a turbo blanket on my VT330R, along with a heat wrapped manifold and a ceramic coated downpipe. My under-hood temps dropped a good bit. I used a thermal temp gun to test before and after the blanket and wrap. I have this data in a spreadsheet someone on my hard drive.

The ATP wasn't a cheap china core, did you forget this lol.

it will be interesting to see them side by side.

Yeah, that ATP was smaller than the Chinese one I had. It did perform better, but it still didn't do what I needed.

I don't think the ATP would keep up with most of the big turbos on the market either. It is one of the smallest cores offered.
