Spark Plug Issue

In preparation for my dizzy flash tune I went ahead and changed the plugs for pre gapped ngk's (one step colder). There was a bit of oil on the coil packs for cylinders 1-3 but nothing excessive. However the car is misfiring at idle (sounds awful) and is throwing a p0301 code. I swapped out the plug in cylinder 1 and still no luck. I'm lost boys. My car is a 2017 with 37k miles.

was this happening prior to you changing the plugs? If not make sure your packs are in fact making contact with the spark plugs. Its happened to me before and I threw a misfire code for it.

Car was running perfectly before I changed the plugs. Now it sounds like its running on 3 cylinders

I'm at work right now but will definitely try this when I get back. Just don't think it would be a problem with the coils since the car ran fine beforehand

Is there oil contamination on the coils? If so use the QD electronic cleaner to clean them off.

Id put money on that being the issue, just reseat the packs they should rest comfortably when in the correct position. You shouldn't have to move them around too much. Oil on the coil packs is from a leaking gasket which is not a major fix

There was oil on the coils and some in the spark plug wells. I wiped the oil off the coils when installed the plugs.

Where did this oil come from anyway?

Running down from a leaking gasket which seals off the spark plugs is my guess. Hey op is it the threads on the plugs that have oil or is it on the electrode of the plugs?

The threads had oil on them but the electrode was dry. Stock plugs looked alright when i took them out.

Then it’s a gasket issue from the valve cover

They had a very small amount of oil on them. I can take pictures of the spark plug wells when I get home but I don't think its that serious
