Anyone know how long a downpipe should take to install? I don't want a shop ripping me a new ones because they haven't done one on a Fist before!

Took me a couple hours on my back in the garage. I used ramps and it worked out OK except I hate working on stuff now days. The stock DP came out a way Ford says it doesn't and saved a ton of time, no battery removal necessary. Its all bolt in so an hour or two at most is what I would say a shop should charge. I didn't want an exhaust leak so I couldn't trust anyone else to do it right except myself. I see you are pending the 2J Racing Intercooler as well, mine will be here tomorrow and I will probably install it this weekend. Guess I will finally have to stop being cheap and buy an Cobb AP to see some real gains.

I'm not that mechanically inclined, so I haven't thought about a DIY. But, the shops around here seem to have zero clue on how long the install should be, been quoted 2-3 hours, buddy had a shop go at it for 4 hours but charged only for two. I myself don't trust anyone to work on my cars, have had the best shop F#%k up a simple install. And yes the IC is on its way, hope it performs well..

Im going to run the 2j-r catless downpipe with stock exhaust but remove the resonator, you can go from cat with 2.5 flange and taper down closer to rear axle.

on the stck turbo n aftermarket cat loses power, don't shoot the messenger... multiple tuners hve tld me this. trust me I'm piss af to I have the cobb dp

If you remove the cowl, disconnect the coolant lines to the turbo and remove the stock heat shield the DP install is very easy. The time needed all depends on the bolt at 11 o'clock where it attaches to the turbo and if it comes out, strips or breaks...

If I had to do it again right now I could probably swap out the DP in 45 minutes, but I have removed all those parts around 3 times now and am very familiar with it. I'd say 2 hours at a local shop is a good estimate, if all goes well...

Most shops are saying minimum 3 hr charge , its 2 hours at max but gues they need to rip people a new one anyway

Cp-e shows $220usd for installation at their shop which equates to two hours, I believe.

Received my downpioe for [MENTION=382]airjor13[/MENTION] and installed it thisweekend. Went in easy. Turned the downpioe 180 degrees after cutting the rmm bolts off and it slid right out. No takingnoff coolant lines or anything. This was the 2J catless downpioe btw

Got the Depo Racing downpipe installed and it sounds really good, great way quality for the price for sure! I know this is not the thread but I feel the turbo spools much easier now that I have the Catless dp. Just my 2€

That's good to hear ! Did you installed it yourself or take it to shop? I think I can do cbe and maybe IC but don't want to mess with a dp.

No sir , I had a shop do it. Took them like 6 hours but they did a wicked good job!

Is there any difference in any of the down pipes offered on a stock turbo? I assume the Depo might have a cheaper flex joint, but they all look similar in design, except the highest-priced DHM.

At some point (22,000 miles currently), my exhaust started smelling about half-way cat-less, so I guess I killed the stock cat. I have the Depo racing dp and I can smell the fumes like crazy but that will be the case with any Catless dp, it's the best do for the buck tho

I just ordered the ATP downpipe and I'm going to try to cover it with a WRX uppipe blanket turned sideways, like I did on my son's '02 WRX. The difference in temperature around the top mount intercooler after we covered his turbo & downpipe is crazy, totally worth it. There's a blanket available for a late model VW that covers the manifold & turbo, but it's a bit pricey. I think they're similar in shape to a FiST setup.

Anyone in jersey or close to NE philly can give me help with the Depo downpipe ? I look at how to by Cobb and it don't look to bad . I don't feel comfortable doing it by myself . Anyone know any good shops that can do it for a good price and not rape my pockets ?? Anyone ?? Greatly appreciated !!

No surprise, the ATP cat-less downpipe feels better, but Vdyno shows little or no improvement. How does a TD04L-13T from a WRX compare to our KP39, because those guys put a big downpipe on immediately and claim gains. It's a 2.0L, but still. I'd really like it to show gains as a trade-off to the smell, but I guess I'll shelf it until next year when I go big turbo.

Now here the question. I have a Depo catless since it bottles down to 2.5 to fit stock cat or 2.5 cbe . Can a cpe or injen 3 inch cbe bolt up without leaking ?

Injen yes as it necks down as well. I believe the CPE is a true 3in, so I think you have to use a CPE DP.
