Torque Solutions RMM got shredded just running ethanol tunes

Wow... can't believe these are such junk, the bushings are cheap rubber and not polyurethane, I've had this for just over a year and is unacceptable. They want me to send the whole thing in to be rebuilt when I literally lost half the large bushing and the other half tore, they really don't want to just send me another one. Very disappointing! Well, now they are saying just send in the frame and pins and they will use all new bushings.. Still, not sure if it's worth it or not to deal with it, I will have to make sure I even still have both pins... sheesh.

Torque Solutions has a very long-standing bad reputation in the Subaru community. I first became aware of them when they started making knockoffs of the Kartboy short shifter that would routinely shear off or snap at the welds. Sad to see they're still making crap and I'm glad you weren't hurt by their shoddy workmanship.

Thanks for sharing, we need more of this when aftermarket components fail. I think you should cut your losses and go with a more proven setup like CP-E or Cobb. I have put about 30k miles on the Cobb on an E30 tune and about 20K miles on the CP-E with a bigger turbo (RT330 and GTX). Neither ever gave me issues although the Cobb was a bit soft for my liking and I would occasionally experience wheel hop.

Yeah, Cobb is definitely going to be too soft for me, I have my eye on a couple of others already... and even though they are willing to use all new bushings now I don't really trust it anymore, but maybe I can sell it to someone who has no intention of running an ethanol tune or turbo upgrade, I'm sure it will be fine for that.

Is there a Lifetime warranty on the mount and the urethane?

Not sure if it's lifetime or not, but they are willing to rebuild it with all new bushings and I just need to send in the frame and pins.

I would look at Whoosh”s I make and sell Urethane engine mounts for 240sx’s and can tell you from the looks of it Ron”s should be nice.

The rear motor mount by Ron has been great so far. Plus you know the man stands behind he's products. Since I made a video about it I've talked to a couple people about both the yellow and black bushing mount. Both have great feedback but the black/ race mount definitely adds some vibrations. The Yellow mount /street version is basically almost unnoticeable once it breaks in.

The First time it busted Torque Solutions sent me replacement bushings without questions, this second time I opted for purchasing a new RMM.

It may have been me who posted those same pics recently in the FB groups... I already have the one I'm eyeing listed at the very end of my signature, it seems like a nice cross between street and race but what I like about Ron's is that he simply beefed up by a little (72a instead of 68a) the one of 2 bushing's that Cobb has a little too soft, it has the same 80a secondary bushing as Cobb so I definitely recommend Ron's for the casual enthusiast over Cobb at a much better price too.

Had that one for like a week, dash felt like it wanted to fall off. Hated every second I had it, but it was a loaner while I resolved an issue with another RMM and traded with another buddy.

Mine has broken in nicely! It took some time....I don't hardly even notice it with the A/c on anymore. All mounts NEEDS TO BE GIVEN TIME TO BREAK IN..... Sometimes its takes a yr sometimes a month....patience is a virtue.

Im running a mountune lower and a vibratech upler passenger. Got to get the upper trans mount and id like to swap to the boomba setup for the rmm.

A buddy just swapped his mountune RMM, which used to be mine and I gave it to him when I got the TS. His mount was actually broken very similarly to my Torque Solution one.

BTW, both our cars have turbo upgrades and the inserts on the top mounts

Im still on stock turbo lol. Nkt a lotnof hard launches in this car but i wore out the passenger upper. My rmm still seems ok.

I had the Boomba rmm for close to 100k miles and it worked but vibey with the a/c on at idle. Upping idle a few hundred rpm solves that. The CPE is a way better unit imho. I would look into Powerflex engine mounts and bushings as well. 👌🇺🇸

Sure motorsports in the Mazdaspeed community was the same way. Absolute garbage parts that they tried to tell people were the highest quality
