Maybe I'm doing this wrong but I haven't found one thread in this forum on how to replace shift linkage. I've got all the linkages popped off the joints but I feel like when I pull on the linkage I'm missing something cuz it feels like it's caught. Possibly something by the firewall. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is also the point where the cables go through the body.

If anyone stumbles on this, it is possible without pulling much of the interior.
Remove the down pipe
Bend the heat shield down a bit where the cables enter
Use a 10mil wrench to undo 2 nuts
Press the plate the cables run through into the car, make sure the little metal tabs and both studs are pushed inside the hole
Pull the cables from inside
Install in reverse order
