My favorite part is when he explains how his turbo/maps are so smooth that "...you can send your wife out in it..."
Ha! Love it. "But the minute you put your size 11s on there...and introduce a little more throttle input suddenly you've got what you want, a man's car." That cracked me up. I like these guys! Thx for the link Jeff!

What piqued my interest was that they will have a base 57 that will work w/stock injectors and fuel?

But for my daily needs, X47r (or the whoosh unit) will be just fine :)

I watched that yesterday and it really makes me want to ebay my GT2860 for the X47R or base x57. I really miss the instant boost from my old stock turbo FiST.

I miss my instant boost sometimes too. Then I think about how much better it is on the drivetrain to have boost later on down the RPMs rather then instantaneous and also not having my car run out of breath up top anymore.

There are hybrids out there with 50,000 miles on them that are still running strong without any damage so far to drivetrain...it is true that all the lower power/torque stresses things more and I see your point, but I wouldn't say it's a serious issue as long as you're not beating the car in 1st gear every day.

In terms of breath, my X47 keeps full boost past 6,000 rpm and barely tapers off at all by redline...I think a hybrid is the perfect powerband for this car....still get instant boost but power stays 100% till near redline.

Yeah you're right about the drivetrain reports. Its all in what application you want. In the end I wanted a turbo that was tride, true, and proven but also if I wanted to push more I could without maxing out the turbo. I'm not going to point out the hybrid failure to big turbo failure rate because I don't like that argument but it is a piece of mind knowing the GTX2860r is pretty reliable from people who've atleast reported so.

I hear you, well said. I'm not up on the failure rates of big turbos but I can tell you that Pumaspeed has sold right at 500 of their X47 series and there are maybe 5 failures that I've heard of....could be more but still that's not many. That doesn't worry me much. It's not as big of a problem as some folks have made it out to be...much of that is marketing competition strategies, I think.

Yeah you're right it's all in what you want...if I wanted the power band shifted to the right I'd have bought a different car but I wanted the personality of the Fiesta as it is but only with some real power at the top which is why I picked the hybrid.

I have done a turbo upgrade in the past to shift power band to the right and I did enjoy it, but it more suited that car (Subaru). But I'm sure the Fiesta with big turbo is big fun for those who have it.

Yeah Jeff BT sucks really bad.....Sucks my Foot right into the pedal and into the stratosphere! There are Turbos for everyone and to meet all the specific needs....and more are still being developed and rolling out for years to come! Like ive always said....if anyone wants to see what a BT is all about....hit me up and I'd let you drive it or go for a ride to give you an idea!

I'm also in this dilemma. I like having more room up top if I desire more power later.

I'm just here to promote the S280 lol. A great in-between from a hybrid to BT. If you like the donkey punch that the stock turbo has, get a hybrid, if you want something that wont start to choke out up top get a BT or S280. The X57 looks like its similar to the s280 / VT330R
