In theory I could see why you'd say it's overblown. In practice, quite a few of us on this forum and others have had issues. Beyond that, I've seen many guys that have owned turbo vehicles in the past say the worm clamps are useless and do this a lot, and the clamps should be replaced with t bolt clamps.

With this ratch spanner you can access the clamps from the top inside the engine compartment?
If your mean the two clamps on the throttle body, yes I can but its Very tight for room. I needed to remove the boost/vacuum hose from the top of the throttle body and put my hand in backwards. The hose that faces the engine I attached to the clamp using a Chop stick and a rubber band and then removed the chop stick so I could tighten the clamp, L0L. See images. What makes this little spanner so useful is the extensions on the ends because its double ended.

From Corky Bell's turbo book Maximum Boost, Re intercooler clamps. "If a system runs 20 psi through a 2-inch hose joint, it will have 63 pounds of force trying to pull the joint apart". So its the pressure multiplying affect that can cause issues.

Took mine to a very friendly local ford garage today. Mine needed a wheel bearing replacement :S but I have also mentioned how many people are noticing that their boost pipes are loose and that they gain a bit of power from tightening them :)

front left, apparently it has been damaged by kurbing the wheel or a pot hole :S now it has been kurbed but only when i was parking and at litterally 1/2mph reversing into a space and very slightly so obviously these cars have stupidly rubbish wheel bearings as well

Well they say pot holes :S I have tried to get it under warrenty as I have never had a single car thats bearing has gone from driving in pot holes. Surely at 5000 miles you would expect not to have it broken by potholes that early? No warrenty if you have a scuffed wheel. Or they can claim pot holes from what I can gather

I have never had a wheel bearing fail before and my corsa was on about 130,000 miles. I drove a good 21,000 miles of pure hell for the car and the bearings were all totally fine haha. I am really annoyed they are trying to charge me at 5100 miles for a bearing :S

Well then.
Just been back to the garage.
They have said that there is a buckled wheel, Which has then caused the bearing to fail due to vibration or the jolt that buckled the alloy, and now its not covered under warrenty.
The bearing is apparently ?70 just for the part. Then ?100 for labour to fix it as they want ?170 total.
If I want the alloy replaced as well then thats around ?170 as well for a single alloy.
In a nut shell warrenty it on Fords is clearly not even worth having haha. It is pathetic at how low millage this car has started showing problems.

What do you guys recon?? Buckled wheel and worn out bearing at 5100 miles on the clock? I have seen hundreds of cars smashing over pot holes and not wrecking wheel bearings and alloys :S its ridiculous.

I have heard (but have no concrete proof) that some European cars have wheels designed to bend, rather than break, the logic being that it'd be better to bend one at high speeds (autobahn?) than have it break. Maybe Ford is using this style for the Fiesta ST? I'm unsure though so take that with a grain of salt. For what it's worth I work in the Parts Department at an Audi dealership and we see bent wheels come in pretty frequently due to pot holes.

And I hate to say it but if you did bend a wheel, and continuing to drive it caused the bearing to fail, then no that probably wouldn't be covered by the warranty.

Sorry for your bad luck :(

Some places repair bent wheels, it may be worth contacting them to see if it can be done and at what cost.

Any chance of pics of the said wheel scuff ?? I can't imagine how it must look to tweak a bearing ..

At 22.5lbs these wheels should do neither of the two....smh
Much more important that wheel mass would be the particular alloy used, and then the mass distribution of said alloy. Density does not equal compression strength or shear strength, nor does it equal malleability. Solid gold wheels would go to s#!+ in a hurry due to deformation damage, yet weigh ungodly amounts.
