Are you speaking about the 17 inch sparcos a few post up? Because if so, agreed. Haha. Can't wait for my 16 inch wrapped in 225/45 this spring. I definitely feel the difference with my 185/60 winter set up.
225? Thought 205 was the way to go? I'm purchasing some this weekend, rims gonna be 16¥7 any thoughts

I changed my mind again. Ha. I just really love the look of 225/45s on 16s. So what was making me get the 205s was the price of the Sport Comp 2s, but I then found these KDWs on Ebay for the same price. So I got the looks I wanted along with the price. Couldn't pass that down. And after talking to people who run 225/45s, they say perform just fine.

I was thinking of going with some dunlops, I would love to run wider tires, are you lowered? I will be adding some h&r sport springs, don't wanna rub or bottom out. Any recos on good better tires?

If you plan on lowering I don't think you can run 225's. I'm no expert but I don't think it's possible without spacers or some fabrication. And no I'm not lowered; too many potholes and inclines in the city for that unfortunately.

But if I was to lower I'd run 205/45 or 205/50 BFGoodrich sport comp 2s. Great price for the price. Can't really beat them.

Tires look like Yokohamas
Just curious, not ready to sell yet, but my decision kind of depends on interest, so putting the word out...

Would anybody want to buy a set of 18x7.5 sparco assetto's with 215/35/18 kumho pa31? Probably about 5k miles on them. Tires have about 7/32 tread left. One has slight curb rash, was there when I bought the car, so I don't know the story. I'm more a fan of meaty tires, so looking to go to 16's. Will probably be asking in the 700 range.

Well, I do not enjoy doing this but will for the benefit of others:(

1) those tires seem to no longer be made by BFG so finding a replacement if needed might be a bit tough as time goes by.

2) known to be pretty noisy and ride a bit harsh.

3) to wide to work properly on the wheels chosen.

4) newer design tires would perform better overall.

Not a horrible choice but no where near as good as it could of been as advised:(:(

There is a reason we offer our help to those less experienced in picking tires and wheels as it is the only link between the car and the road thus critically important.

Update, I just did a quick search for another member and found some history of failures with Slipstreams. I have ran some Rota wheels in the past but remember doing some serious research before I bought them, no worries even on track but I never ran the Slipstream wheels.

I appreciate the help as always. I don't really need them to work properly as I'm really only going for looks and daily driving. And there is plenty of protection there for my city driving and plenty of added traction, I'm sure.

And if something were to happens I'll just cross that bridge when I get there. That's why I'm keeping my 15s.

And I'm sure newer tires work fine but I've spoken to people who own these tires and they've had no complaints with how they daily drive. And road noise isn't a big issue to me because I can hardly hear it on my winter tires or my sport comp 2s which are both suppose to be noisy.

Having the wider tires will certainly help with city driving, I have to carefully park my car all the time to not scrap the wheels, that is the best benefit you have with them, scraping and also damage from other situations and with your particular driving needs the wider tire makes more sense. I want to make sure others know it is not the best performance setup is all.

Most other people do not know much about wheels and tires so their personal opinions are not the most reliable, people tend to like what they bought or how things look more than work, sad but true so professional advice if available or advice from those with serious experience is normally best.

They are a good reliable and decent performance tire so I would not be to worried about having to replace one though it could happen. This is the same reason I do not buy closeout wheels, have wheels modded instead of modding the car to fit wheels I can get readily, etc....I make sure I can get what I need as easily as possible.

You made a decision based on your wants, needs, budget, etc....my post was just to make sure others understand the ramifications of some decisions they might not be aware of.

Do let us know how they work out for you of course.

Very true to everything you just said. Haha. I always appreciate guys like you putting advice out there for people like me who don't know any where close to the knowledge you do when it comes to these things.

I will definitely post up impressions, when the spring time rolls around. Ha.

Though I have far more experience than most I still research a great deal on all tire and wheel purchases which I do quite a bit of for others as well and really do love doing it and my wife loves me for doing it also, not a bad way to spend some of my time:)

With less than 50 miles experience on the new set, compared to OEM 050A with 21k miles:
Comfort: ++
Noise: -
Grip: ++++
Confidence: +++
Turn-in: -
Communication at limit ++
MPG: TBD

Overall, EXTREMELY happy with my wheel and tire choice. Next favorite wheel was 2 lbs lighter but more than 2x the cost (OZ Ultraleggera). The BFG SC2 were ridiculously cheap @ $70 each.

Those look great on your car:):)

One thing I really like about spokes that go all the way out is they make the wheels look bigger than they are and match the current styling trend better without the nonsense induced by to large a wheel diameter.

Review is much appreciated and glad I could help a bit.

Wish I could put my wheels on :(

This looks good though. It's good to know if I don't like my 225/45 set up I'll always have this or 205/50 to fall back on.
