It is 2.5. Fitment was good. It was kinda tough to line up the flanges with the gaskets (needed someone to help me hold things in place while I threw the bolts and gaskets through). But all in all, it wasn't bad. No rubbing or anything like that. I wish the gaskets provided were a little better but I could always upgrade later. With the lift, it made life easier of course and no signs of leaks so far. If I had to guess, this system probably sounds a lot like a fwerks or Cobb system. I'm glad my gamble paid off, I was really worried about the whole thing and I hope it can pave the way for someone who is on a budget and wants a good catless turbo-back system.
Now the debate comes into play....get a whoosh DP that's catted and run it on the stock system or possibly get this. It is uncatted correct?

It is catless (the cat looking thing is in fact a resonator). Which is a bummer because I also wanted to get the Whoosh Catted DP. But I can confirm that this system won't work with Whoosh's because no matter what I did, the midpipe wouldn't play nice with the prototype. I'm not super thrilled that I don't have a cat but for what I payed and that my state doesn't enforce any emissions, I shouldn't complain.

If you want sound, get this system. If you like the sound of stock and want a catted dp for a stage 3 or something, go Whoosh. With the catted dp on a stock system, the sound won't change much. I got a little bump in sound with the prototype but it was also catless.

Do you have an AP3? With snap crackle pop option...I'd be curious to hear it with that.

I do not.... yet. As soon as I get my whoosh front mount, I'm going to get one. Apparently Santa didn't think I deserved an AP this year. I still have only 2300 miles on the car and when I do a mod, I like to kinda enjoy it for some time and then at some point I get the urge to do more and then I start throwing cash at the problem. I'm sure it won't take long...

Did you get a chance to watch the video? I know it's kind of a bummer running their dp but I'm glad I did just because I think that small resonator that's on their dp helps with the sound and kills the drone. I can't believe I got such a nice system for $345. I'm very happy.
Does it seem like it would bolt up OK to the factory downpipe?

I don't think it would. But... considering how much more flexible the flex section of the stock dp is, it might? but I wouldn't recommend trying if you absolutely need to keep the stock cat.

What was happening when I tried to bolt this up to the dp I had was, to get the angle to work when matching the two (which wouldn't) the back of the midpipe was literally touching the bottom of the car. It simply wasn't going to work. But the dp they provide did the job and I think overall made the system sound that much better.

If I didn't buy my downpipe like a year ago I would have considered this system. That resonator could fool a tech doing a visual inspection for smog. It seems to sound alot like cobb or fswerks.

Props to OP for purchase/risk/install report. Sounds like a decent product, assuming long-term reliability/quality is good and no banging on the car or drone issues, the only downside I see is not having a cat, which is a deal breaker for some, but for others this is perfect if they like the sound.

Looking forward to more sound clips.

Great job!

Thanks man. Thank god it was worth the risk. I couldn't be happier. I promise when the weather cooperates I'll post some good videos. I don't like super loud exhausts and hate drone and this checks all the boxes. The great thing is it has a lot of great sound outside the car. And from 4-6k rpm, inside the car, sounds incredible.

OBX still exists! Hahahaha sorry for that exclamation guys. Yes the Maximizer is a OBX exhaust, Racing Parts Depot is OBX. OBX was started in 88 it was a Honda aftermarket parts company with products manufactured in Taiwan.

They expanded into othe 240sx world and other cars in the 90's. They were relatively frowned upon in the 90's as a knock off company in the 240sx world. I.E. Copies of popular Japanese exhaust systems for 180sx/240sx and Silvia's aka S13's and S14's.
Do not touch their Turbo's with a 10ft pole. Lol also they made cheap limited slips for S chassis cars and Honda as well as others.

This exhaust does look like a knock off of already well known brands. It does sound decent I think th big question is durability/longevity and fitment.
OBX has been known to fit good on one persons car and fit bad on another due to poor QC of product on the production line. It's documented online if you do a search.

It is a caveat emptor situation....

I am not trying to diss as much as shed light on the product so people can make an informed decision.
I have been in the modified car world for years and especially imports. I have seen lots of quality stuff and lots of garbage.
Though that could be a whole other thread. Lol

I honestly wish CGLEN good luck with his exhaust and at least it was not that expensive.

Don't they do the dyno/sniffer test in Cali as well, or is that only certain counties?

Not on cars produced in the last 10 years it's all OBDII port hookup now. Earlier cars go on the dyno. New cars get wired up and the system talks to the computer. If there are no codes or CEL's and everything is cleared you pass. Yup ECU's and systems are sophisticated enough to report if your car is running out of spec and putting out emissions.

Quality wise, generally, I would take a product made in Taiwan over one made in mainland China, but there are always exceptions, and cases where BOTH are garbage.
Their (OBX's) stuff almost always looks really good, but like you said it could be hit or miss on the fit sometimes.

In the recent past, they have also started making parts for the LSxes, including an ITB intake manifold of all things, I am guessing because of the popularity of that power plant for swaps into various RWD Nippon imports.

Your not completely correct.
They rollers to provide resistance to simulate driving on a road with a sniffer in the tail pipe but only if its older than a 2002. I got my 04 suburban smogged last year and my at the time 1 year old was fussing. So I took him for a ride in the stroller around the building and there was no rollers. Asked him whats up he said if its a 2002 or newer than its a visual and obdll check to make sure all the smog shit is working on the car and that's it.

But their draconian visual inspection (for non-factory/OEM parts, aftermarket without CARB certification plates/stickers/markings, any missing emissions equipment, etc.) is still in effect, correct?

As would I, even though some stuff made China is quite well made as well. It's actually in the LS world were there are some modern fitment complaints

Ah ok I stand corrected and yes I am well aware of why they have dyno 's and sniffers lol.. Of course we are on the same page. Lol I was just off by 5 years. Hahahaha

Yes, usually you can find cool techs that will look the other way as long as the proper equipment is in the right place besides aftermarket goodies and you pass, I.E. Going in with no flags or CEL. Though you did not hear that from me. Lol

I hit one guy up asked if he could dyno my old car when u got it smogged once. Said it doesn't do that. It just provides resistance. Does not measure power. A big majority of those smog techs are not going to get under the car and look for a carb sticker. They will look from above, see something that looks like a cat. Scan the computer and be on to the next car. Also there not going to call the cops on you and get your car impounded. My original post said it COULD fool a tech not that it will. I did not mean to stir up any shit. I have also heard about finding carb #s online. That could be a backup. Oh shit I forgot it didn't have the # on there sir here it is I saved it my phone after I bought it. Could work.
