I had an OBX exhaust on a Lightning and it was quite good. The "catalytic" looking items are just resonators that look like converters. Only thing i dont like is the bolted connectors. They will shake themselves loose over time.

Just get some exhaust springs and screws from Napa...Autozone or Oreillys...Walker and Dorman make them.

Gonna go ahead and throw this out there:
https://www.amazon.com/OBX-Turbo-Exhaust-System-Fiesta/dp/B07681TMHG

Comes with a 15% off discount and came out to $420 Shipped for me. If I already had another Catback I'd give it a roll, but since I'd have to cut my stock one up to remove, can't take the chance on this being crazy loud or drony. Cops in my area are a-holes and I daily the car.

Also even with bolt together mounting surfaces, I've never had a problem with just adding longer bolts with washers and lock washers.

Or you could always get some lock-tite. I've used bolt/flanges many times on other boosted cars and never had trouble. But that is a good point. I've never really been a "clamp" style exhaust guy on boosted cars but apparently its the most common choice among FiSt owners. Either one has their ups/downs but I'm kinda old school and would prefer the bolt/flange.

I kinda had that concern too, but my thought was I could always throw a Vibrant Ultra-Quiet resonator in the pipe section after the downpipe. And since I would rather have a quieter, large diameter, SS exhaust... i would probably go that route anyways

Well the design looks very similar to FSWerks in terms of the muffler size and people seem to love that exhaust. I just purchased a Cobb Catted downpipe and I have no problems going with a 2.5" exhaust even though I plan on going x37/x47. I think he car will be plenty efficient at 2.5" back and gains going to 3" will be minimal.

So I'll hope someone takes the plunge and gives it a go, or I'll wait till black friday and try to pickup an fswerks or Mountune exhaust instead.

Hey guys...not trying to throw a wet blanket on this, and I hope I'm wrong, but word to the wise, you get what you pay for. I've done this twice in past cars - bought the eBay/Amazon "won't break the bank" cheapo exhaust, once for my TSX and once for my Corolla. In both instances I put the exhaust on the car and had it off the next day. It sounded awful, fit very poorly (touched in multiple places), sat crooked, was poor quality.

These things scare me...
An amazing "30 day warranty"...
"High quality mild steel" does not sound good...
"...in most applications..." meaning they do exhaust for a bunch of cars without care to detail
"Unleash maximum horsepower"...we all know the truth about that on our cars in terms of exhaust...
"These catback-smooth flow sound gives it..." poor grammar
Size discrepancy....is it 2.5 or 3"?

Think about it, for $100 or $200 more you get a real exhaust from a reputable company and a cat too.

Anyhow in my case it was super frustrating to install and then remove and pack up and pay the return shipping which was my loss...

*****
Hope I get proven wrong, but just thought I'd share....I was the guinea pig twice on this kind of deal and it bit me!!!!

According to the Amazon OBX system, its 2.5" and it says its SS. I've actually had really good luck with my TL type-S (tseudo) and my 2g DSM (no name). Especially the case with my turbo eclipse, the 3" SS system cost around $300 for the turbo back and was excellent quality and sounded great. Was really well muffled and only sounded loud when you hit the loud pedal in high boost.
and truth be told, i could always throw a resonator in this system to quiet it down (which in that case I want the rest of the system to just be there so I can modify it) and for the whole turbo back system for $425 (amazon) and vibrant ultra quiet res for $100 that is still a steal.

Judging by my prior experience when hearing about OBX quality I wouldn't touch this.

Start a go fund me here...I'd throw $50 at it for a test mule. There are focus ST owners who have used them. There are videos on YouTube.
