Converted to closed loop today. Will report how it goes after running a while.
Update: DO NOT RUN VTA ON THIS CAR

PCV requires intake vacuum to open.

Also: MAKE SURE YOUR OCC CAN TAKE BOOST

My gasket was defective, guess where the oil went. All over the engine bay. Had fun cleaning it today.

So are you saying the catch can gasket 'let go'?

Can you elaborate for the noobs like me. I dont know what VTA is and was it tje gasket to the CC defective? Which CC you have?

VTA = vent to atmosphere, don't use cans with a breather filter on it. If you want a boost ready can, look up Saikou Michi. Completely sealed, welded together with just the bungs for inlet and outlet and a drain. The inlet and outlets can be speced for size and angle. Go take a look, good stuff. Apparently the F150 forums had a manufacturer test it against their system and found it next best at smth like 95%+ efficient. (Their setup is kinda complicated but get like 99% or something.)

Its weird. Yesterday I upgraded my FMIC to the Mishimoto and my IC piping was literally bone dry. Not any oil at all. I have 9000 miles and have been Stage 1 since 1800.

I was told by the service advisor that installing a CC will not void warranty because I tried to prevent my engine from failing especially since ford acknowledges this issue.

If you get a Mishimoto oil catch can, get the one with the baffle and inlet filter. This one is made for boost and can hold a lot of oil and water residue. Install the hose that goes to the bronze filter to the PCV, and the other side to the intake manifold. Purchase a spare PCV hose from Rockauto. I'm really pleased with my set up.

For documentation purposes here was the amount of oil I found in my stock pipes on both sides of the FMIC once I removed it for the first time to install the Mishimoto J-Line.

Car is allegedly driven very hard for 30 min mountain sessions about 3-5 times a month (depending on weather seasons), 20-30% of session is WOT. All other times are highway miles. 6,000 miles on car when video was taken and has zero power mods.

Did variable speed highway miles with variable speed city for the first 400 miles guaranteed. Didn't go over 4,000 rpm. I only didn't start going full beans until 700 miles.

Correct. Fixed with liquid gasket. Hopefully it can take boost. Looking around for check valves now. Boomba's check valve is a nice piece, but impossible to get in China.

Someone else answered VTA. Gasket in CC is defective. Generic China brand (D1 Spec, you can find them on Ebay) with homemade baffling of bronze sinter filter and stainless steel mesh.

I've noticed a few guys running high corn fuels seem to get more blow by in their cans. That just my un scientific observation.

A couple of questions if I may.
Is there oil in the intake tract before the turbo inlet?
Do you run high corn? How are/were your oil levels? - you're not over filled are/were you?
Are you still on the factory fill?

I'd consider an OCC to stop the pooling down there but it could also be a more serious issue. From what stuntdoogie found Ford though may say it's 'normal'...

Bone dry with some brown residue? Dried powderish like residue when I stuck my finger in.

Well I guess there could be vapor residue but it's not volumes of oil like I've heard some mention. It felt dry to the touch.

Thanks. I have random curiosity as to whether break-in procedures may or may not have any effect on the blow-by that many are experiencing. I've seen the reports of oil by quite a few, but most don't really acknowledge how they broke-in the engine.

Obviously I don't know anything definitive (which is why I ask), but both of my ST's underwent the same hard break-in with an immediate swap to Mobil1 EP between 500 and 1k miles, and neither have any trace of oil in the intake, IC, or charge pipes.

FWIW i've just checked my 'hose two'...

I should also mention I've been running an open pod for about 9000kms.
