Worked! I'm like a kid on Xmas! Pandora and Spotify show up in the music section. Hopefully it'll be more stable this way cuz the sync 3 way was really spotty.

The update took about 20 minutes for me as well. One thing I did wrong was after part 2 finished I turned the car off at the next traffic light, opened my door, waited for the Ford logo to disappear then immediately turned the car back on. Well, if you do that too fast the update doesn't take. Once I got home I gave it about 30 seconds before turning it back on and voila, all good. Be aware that after the update the screen will take longer to come up the first time. Don't panic. I thought I bricked it lol

...because I didn't know that I should. Does that make me brave?

If you knew the Instructions to follow then yes and If you didn't then No. Not that big of a deal but I would have probably made sure on the Instructions first though. That way nothing gets messed up in the meantime. No one likes having issues, Especially with the radio of all things.

also, I ordered my USB hub from fordparts.com who I think refers it to a local dealer to fulfill.. it was $53 and I paid $10 for overnight shipping.

Car Play works with the Lincoln USB hub. The hub swaps out easy. Just pry with a plastic panel remover or a screwdriver wrapped in some electrical tape from the edge facing the rear of the armrest. It comes right out.

For reference, I have a 2016 w/Nav. Thank you @OffTheWall for sharing [raceflag]

Confirmed working here! 2016 with navigation.

I really like it so far. The standard Sync3 navigation isn't that great, so it's nice to be able to use "Ok Google" seamlessly. Hopefully Waze will be Android Auto compatible soon.

I don't like being unable to use my phone while connected, however. The 'Android Auto' screen on my phone won't allow me to use my phone normally (when at stoplights, for instance). Is there a workaround? I have a Nexus 6P running 7.1.1

Only work around is to use the drop down menu from the top and turn off car mode, which you can do by tapping the steering wheel icon/notification but it will turn AA off I believe.

Sweet! Thanks for sharing. Does that port have an SD card slot and AUX now as well? If so that's a sweet upgrade.

It is required if you want to use Apple CarPlay. AndroidAuto requires no additional hardware.
now I shall go cry...

I've been droid since it was an option. Work bought me an iPhone and I recently sold off my droid and ported my number and pointed it to my iPhone. this is the first time being a good Jew has backfired for me even though I saved 110/month in phone bills.
