Gap in FSWerks short shifter

Ok I installed my FSWerks short shifter and there is a small gap like a cm between the top and bottom mounting things. I have the screws pretty tight too. Is this ok or does it have to be completely flush? I am driving around right now and there's no issues yet. It's flush on the end with only one acres but the side with the two screws there's a slight gap.

Ok that's reassuring. I really like this short shifter. It cut my 0-60 down from a 6.7 second average to now I just ran a 6.4! I'm sure with practice I can get to 6.1.

Now I have another problem.... I think I messed up my MAF? My Accessport is reading -40 for my ambient temperature. The temperature on the gauge cluster on the car is correct though at 60 degrees.

Mine doesn't sit completely flush either, but it maybe has a couple mm gap. You could try to loosen it and see if you can make it fit better. Make sure your maf connector is plugged in completely and the red lock tab is pushed in too

normal, its suppose to "clamp" and not meet, and top and bottom cuts are not kept to great tolerance since they do not meet.

Source: contacted FSWERKS and kinda cried about my low tolerance parts, and they informed me of such.

Ok that's great then. Now I don't need to take it apart again and fumble around with it lol.

Yeah my MAF was plugged in correctly but still was way off temperature. Eventually it did clear itself up though last night. All is good!

Same here, have about a 1/4 inch gap but has never given any issues after 6000 miles. When I installed it the first time I noticed the gap and I tried to get it flush but it was no use, it has a gap by design it seems. Still a great mod though! Tried 15% and 25% reduction an 25% is definitely the way to go.

Just installed mine. Same gap. Fits great though. Set it at 25%. Great inexpensive effective mod. Got mine from CFM motorsports.

I just installed mine and have the same gap as the pic above...maybe a couple of mm.

Basically, that 1mm or whatever gap you get is caused by casting difference between cars, the fswerks part is machined and may possible vary by batch but only very slightly, the tolerance is probably ?1/16, which is pretty normal for low tolerance parts (at least for the gapping area, I am pretty sure the screw holes might be much tighter like say... ?0.010"). some will get 1mm some will get 3mm some will get 5mm, doesn't matter, the point is the gap MUST be there to clamp the part onto the cast bracket, if they meet, then it means the part will be loose, and might act weird.
