ANY difference in exhaust hangers, or splitting hairs?

Is there ANY difference between the various aftermarket exhaust hangers out there (Powerflex, Cobb, Torque Solutions, others?) as far as ; durometer, strength/longevity/durability, fit, etc. goes, or are they ALL made in the same factory just with different names molded into them? [dunno]

all are better than the stock. Careful with the Cobb Fiesta ST kit. Only comes with 3 for their exhaust. Best get the Focus ST to get 4 hangers.

Excuse my ignorance but why are the stock hangers inadequate?

I've only heard them called inadequate for the AFTERMARKET systems out there, not for the factory system.

It might be because of the need to keep the larger tips of the aftermarket systems centered(?), and not banging on the valance's exhaust cutout area(?), much more so than any extra weight, since a lot of the performance system actually weigh less than the stocker. ;)

I sold my Cobb hangers, because they are weren't necessary in favor of going back to OE hangers for my aftermarket Cobb exhaust. They are adequate enough for my DHM big turbo set up. The harder hangers transferred some vibration into the cabin, not so with the nice soft and plush OE hangers.

the main reason why I had gotten to Cobb hangers was to center the tip and keep them in place, which the harder hangers failed to do.

I found what I really needed were not harder hangers, but set screws.

Set screws OE hangers shown below. Cobb hangers are no longer needed.





Tips are allows perfectly centered, no more moving around.

So will this help me also becuase my MBRP looks to be sitting low at a angle

your situation may require stiffer hangers and/or bending the hangers to raise it up. Set screws prevent lateral movement only.

I needed a small hose clamp on the rear most hanger on my Cobb exhaust to keep it from sliding within the hanger. I also needed the Cobb hangers to keep the exhaust from swinging around and and contacting the center brace. I only replaced the two rear hangers as the center one caused a little cabin vibration at certain RPM's.

The combo that worked the best for me to keep everything in place with minimal vibration was to use the Cobb hangers for the 1st, 3rd, and 4th spot. For some reason, I got an annoying vibration when I had the Cobb hanger in the 2nd spot.

I honestly had no issues with the Cobb exhaust on stock hangers for about 3000 miles, but I'm adding a trailer hitch, so wanted to minimize movement.

Hard to say... CP-E looks like it only has a resonator, while COBB has a big muffler.
COBB exhaust weighs 28 lbs. Maybe someone with CP-E weighed theirs before they installed it can chime in.
