OK, so I haven't seen anyone do this "however there may be someone who has" but I'm guinea pigging piecing together an exhaust using stock piping. I just received the following after talking to the Borla technical rep.

1. Borla ProXS muffler - https://www.amazon.com/Borla-40363-Muffler/dp/B000Q7KQHE

2. Vibrant Ultra Quiet Resonator - https://www.amazon.com/Vibrant-1140-Ultra-Quiet-Resonator/dp/B000E3VHW8

I didn't want to spend a ton of cash on a CBE so I decided to try this since my buddy works at an exhaust shop and will weld it in with some cool dual tips for...let's just say next to nothing.

Anyway, I'll report back once I get it welded in!

I love the vibrant ultra quiet resonator/stealth muffler combo I had on my last car. Quiet when just cruising and such, and really opened up when in the throttle. Virtually zero drone at any RPM.

You should get sound clips of just the resonator and a clip of them both.

I'm just waiting on tips. I ordered Vibrant straight cut dual tips but the 3.5" OD looked too big for this car. Ordered 3" OD with angle cut.

So, just got the parts installed. I'm a little disappointed as it doesn't seem loud enough. The only thing I notice is that it it does have a nuch deeper growl. No pops or gurgles which I wanted to a certain extent. I may take out the resonator and see what the ProXS sounds like by itself?!?

You're probably better off taking the muffler off and putting dual tips. There's some on YouTube with just the Vibrant resonator and sounds good.

Have you gotten any chance to get a video? Or have you made any adjustments to the system?

I really love the sound that it makes but I do agree it could be louder

Yea, and to be honest...I don't know how I feel about the added vibrations it causes in the interior of the car. It's not really a drone per se, but low frequency resonance throughout the body of the car. It's only at about 80 on the highway that it bothers me but I travel to Austin (200ish miles) at least every 2 weeks at it's a bit irritating.

I believe a lot of people have had that problem. A lot of people complain about a "drone" at around 80mph. Fixing that resonance might be hard, possibly taking out the resonator could help change the tone or it could do nothing but make it louder.

I may just cut the resonator out to see what it sounds like and drive it a bit. I'll just put the stock units back in if it's still bothering me.

??
