This is true, it would cost less to have 100,000 of one single part than it would to have 10,000. However, when dealing with wiring harnesses and the different options available for each model it creates a different story. If an S, Se, Titanium, and ST all had the same wiring than everybody would have connections for heated seats, fog lights, rear 12v outlet, connections for both a 4" screen 8" screen, rear view camera, audio controls on the steering wheel, 6 speakers, etc. This would allow a person with an S model to upgrade to a titanium simply by plug and play from wrecked cars or aftermarket parts.
This is exactly what the case is for my BMW. I have pretty much the base model for my model year, with the only options being the moonroof and possibly the CD player (haven't been able to confirm if the cassette player was still an option in 2002). The harness is the same across models though, so I can just plug and play about 95% of the optional accessories I don't have. Heated seats, bluetooth hands-free, homelink, the OEM alarm, iPod interface, CD changer, nav, even the cluster "on-board computer" are things that'll work if I simply bolt the right parts in and plug them in to the empty harness connectors that are waiting for them.

It makes sense when you realize how complicated the harnesses are, plus it means vehicles can be reconfigured late in production or even after delivery.

For the reverse camera I do not know the software (but i am learning!!!! quick just downloaded) For the reverse camera which is ALL I really want (but will be doing more) here is some information concerning the wiring on Sync 2.

Has anyone removed the interior panel on the hatch and found a connector for a possible plug n play situation with the titanium camera?
I haven't done that yet. Anyone else been back there yet?

Yes there is nothing there. You need the Head connection unit. Easiest would be this unless you want to add a wire.

Here is another module that does the programming but the camera install should be identical.

CarGuy I am so glad you posted on the $250 reverse camera thread. Already order some ODB2 cables (been meaning for the longest time)

You will also need one of these. http://www.obdinnovations.com/elm327-bluetooth-modified-hs-ms-can-switch-for-forscan-software/

Or you can do what I did an purchase a Bluetooth connected unit but that costs around $75. I bought the OBDLink MX Bluetooth from Amazon. I found this other one after I had already purchased mine. Or you can buy the ELM327 for about $10 and modify it yourself. There are threads to tell you how to do it but I'd just go for the $19.99 one that is already modified.

Here is the FORScan Excel spreadsheet with the latest information of what is available to change. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...iVSlDFGFHnfeuhb3RTMVz95730/edit#gid=815852466
I tried using this to disable the front bulb outage so I can use leds without hyperflash but the as built data is different for the f150 so I'm not sure how many of these functions apply to our ST. It would be nice if a similar spreadsheet could be made specific for our car.

You can get as built data from https://www.motorcraftservice.com/AsBuilt if you know a car with options you want you can put that vin in and use the compare tool from http://compulsivecode.com/Project_AsBuiltCompare.aspx

I don't believe this functionality has been found yet for the fiesta so there is no VIN to compare to. Someone needs to decode the data but I do not know how to do that.

Someone who has a fiesta that doesnt honk needs to provide their vin so we can compare build data!

What honk are you referring to? My wife's car would honk when you had it running and closed the door without the key in it. My car does not do this.

tried changing the speaker configuration today.

no differences with any options that I could pick out and I did try them all and everything still worked fine (even with no speakers)
this worked on my VW, that is why I tried it.

13 was the default on my 16 (w/Nav and Recaro)

FORScan Speakers.jpg

this is the other radio related parameter I found:

no change with option 00 (default), 02, 04, 05
I didn't bother with the others since I doubt they will change anything

FORScan Radio.jpg

for fun and to try to be thorough:

again, no change and everything still worked.

antikid - I noticed the first graphic has an option for tire dimension. If I change this to match the 215/45 R17 tires-wheel, does this mean it will correct the speedometer ?

I assume that's what it would do. I am not an expert by any means and just started using forscan.

change it and drive around with a GPS and find out, then post up!

Or find a near by sign that tells you your speed. In my city we have them at the University and at least 4 others in the city.

Here are two identical AB files, one that honks, one that doesn't. Does this offer any clues?

No honk: https://www.dropbox.com/s/tcia2soj32lkdyu/3FADP4GX1EM160048.ab?dl=0

Honk: https://www.dropbox.com/s/nm64g9evlk37cz2/3FADP4GX0EM134895.ab?dl=0
Diff between the two: Honk is Vehicle 1, Non-Honk is Vehicle 2

So far, it looks like the claims that a few clicks in forscan make the LED DRL on the euro headlamps work were guesses, not factual. Just an FYI for anyone who thought they'd give that a go. I played around with all the different combinations of the headlamp type and DRL settings and couldn't get anything to happen. It was worth a shot!

Current plan now is to map out the various electrical states wire by wire and see if setting the headlamp type setting changes that behavior at all.
There is no setting for parking lights to be used as DRL type?
