Careful with Gorilla colored lugs, they flake really easy from what ive read. I opted for the black mcguard spline and locks. Had my wheels removed with impact guns several times and the lugs still look new.

So I'm having trouble finding this information. What taper angle do the OEM lugs use? I'm surprised to see they're not a ball type (as most OEMs are) but rather a taperd (conical) design. I honestly prefer this as aftermarket lugs will fit without issue.

Is it a 60* taper?

I have used the short, open end, spline, Gorilla nuts for many years, racing, street, etc....never an issue, very low weight and low cost.

Stock lugs nuts, 46 grams (25.96 oz, 1.6226 lbs)
Gorilla above, 23 grams (12.98 oz, 0.8113 lbs)
Aluminum closed end, 19 grams, $$$

I have the aluminum ones that came on a car I bought, nice and light but not much lighter and as often as I swap wheels and tires around they just do not last real long so I might sell them.

How long do the nuts need to be?

The ones I use are still slightly longer than the stud so they are more than long enough.

There is a formula but I forget what it is as have not used it in many years.

Best bang for the buck is the Gorilla shorties I mentioned.

I do have a set of aluminum closed end ones I can sell for a good deal if anybody is interested.

Has anyone given the McGard #64012 a try on OEM wheels? They seem the same as 64002, just slightly shorter. The OEM lugs are getting pretty busted up.

Just bought and put on the mishimoto lugs. Look awesome. Comes with 4 lugs with key open lug and really light. So far if recommend. Cheap price for 20
