All-season vs. Winter tires.

Just to clarify this isn't an either-or on the summer tire. I WILL be running a summer tire in the summer with an aftermarket wheel.
We tend to have a really long wet fairly cold (sometimes freezing) fall/spring here. Winter can get pretty cold and we get some snow but the roads are very well maintained over here in Germany. So the question really was for using winter or all-season tires for October-April which we are legally obligated to have in that time frame here.

Hahaha I have a 2016 V6 Camry but my wife drives it most of the times as it's about 100x more comfortable and quiet. Also cruises at high speed better. The FiST is the toy.

I suppose that means you agree with me, since nothing in your statement says anything about safety and performance. lol

Well I mean it was faster than my stock FiST ...but definitely couldn't handle any turns half as good. After driving the fiesta for so long when I drive the Camry the tires are screaming just driving what I would consider to be cautiously in the FiST.
Yeah, I agree though. It's definitely not a performance car. We call it the lay-z-boy. The FiST is the "after party". Even though it's basically the whole party, including pregame.

Similar to summer tyres for summer I would recommend winters for winter. Winter is a stickier tyre at lower temperatures than what the all-season is. The suggestion has been anything below 7c the winter excel at and where other tyres start to get harder and less sticky (especially summers). Therefore you need to determine what you temp is. A winter tires is well suited for rain and slush. All-seasons would work but the compounds needs to operate in a wider range of temperatures and therefore not excelling at any temp. But to be honest under normal driving both should do the trick.
