When should I do my first mod?

Yeah, I noticed that as well.

I wonder WHO makes these for them; ITG, Pipercross, BMC, ??? [dunno]
I cannot read that K&N box with the clamp bag covering it.

Does it say "DRY Flow" or "HIGH Flow" on it??
I couldn't tell you what the box says, the one mine came in was tossed in the trash long ago. I know the K&N in my car is oiled.

I thought that i had heard something about this in the past, but forgot it (age you know :( ) until you just brought it up.

Is Mountune offering an option of dry or oiled K&N panel filters with their cold air kits now?

Is stage 2 vs stage 1 Cobb a big difference? I'm thinking about financing a stage 2 package and then saving up for a Borla exhaust.

No but the intercooler is a worthwhile investment for future mods.

Think of the intercooler not as creating power but how often and how long you can access the power you have. When the air is too warm in the ic it was not be as dense lessening the power available and should it get to hit the car's ecu will scale back to allow cooling. Therefore in hot climates a large intercooler us very helpful. In cooler somewhat less.

Yeah I got it.

I think I'm gonna get a tune from Tune+ soon. I forget if Adam offers a lifetime thing for changes but I will see.

I'm not made of money so I am trying to decide whether to do an exhaust first or do the tune first. I know I want more power more than a better sounding exhaust though.

If you would rather have more power than a better sounding exhaust it seems you have answered your own question. Tune is the obvious choice for you.

At ~$800, an AP + Lifetime tune from Adam/Tune+ (or other lifetime vendors) is the biggest, future-proof, bang-for-buck power modification short of a turbo upgrade.

Tip: There are used AP's in "For Sale" rather frequently, if you want to save a few bones (like I did). (used RMMs and other popular things as well)

TL;DR - Absolutely do the AP with or without Lifetime first.

yeah that's what I am gonna do. I am emailing Adam already asking him some questions. I will probably do IC at the same time. And After that probably go with a x37 turbo.

Wow! You went from being worried about voiding warranty and in the reliability of the FiST to going full turbo upgrade. Good for you.

Yeah y'all convinced me lol. Idk if I will go for a turbo upgrade or not though. If I have to upgrade my downpipe I probably won't just because I want my car quiet.

Part of the fun is to make a gradual progression on the modification path, in my opinion - from Stage 1 to 3 and beyond. Also, consider what the primary purpose of the car is - if this is to drive daily without any track duty, then I'd say - mild upgrades, easy on the suspension. If you do think that you'd want to track your FiST, then you will ABSOLUTELY need either a bigger radiator, OR more likely, a combo of that and an oil cooler. Things like cold air intake, catback exhaust/catted downpipe, intercooler, and a tune - that'w where i'd start. Suspension mods/bracing/braking mods - probably not needed, unless, again, you are planning on tracking it.

As far as worrying about warranty is concerned - I just had my car worked on by the dealer to get a braking sensor and an AC door actuator fixed, and brought it over with the Cobb tune flashed on, catless DP and all that jazz. No problem - unless you do put on some go-fast bits, like a big turbo, and there are some engine-related problems, I don't expect any guff from dealership. Clearly, brake pedal sensor and the actuator had nothing to do with the mods, so - got that fixed under warranty.

Son, don't get obsessed with "POWER". One of the quickest cars on a road circuit is Mazda Miata, with the stock power less than the FiST. No skill is needed to mash the pedal and drive (well, a much more limited skill set), but to drive a relatively low-powered car quickly requires a good driver. The FiST is one of very few cars that affords a lot of fun right out of the box; I can assure you that you will run out of talent well before you run out of the car's stock capabilities. So, use sparingly.

I hear you; however, I think that you would get a lot more exhilaration when you take a tight turn at 50 mph than if you bomb down a straight at 130. To get the kick in the pants in a straight line, you'd need a super/hyper car, or a dragster. Here in H-town, there are a ton of wannabe racers on the highways who slam on the brakes on a curved exit ramp. A properly driven FiST is faster than a 911 with a poser at the helm when it comes to turns. Just sayin'. (I do have a 993 - so, full disclosure here... :))
