Hello from Central FL!
I've Been hanging around for a few months, but I'm seeking help from the collective knowledge of my fellow enthusiasts.

This afternoon

Installed my new Cobb AP,
converted all interior lighting to led,
and installed a mishimoto shift knob.

I do have a question though... The knob is tapered at the bottom, so the lockout ring still works, however there is about 1 1/2 - 2 inch gap where the spring is exposed.... I'm not sure if I need a lockout ring adapter, considering it's still completely functional... I'm just seeking a solution purely for the cosmetics.

bryramos What's up with that intercooler grill?
Quick Mod I did. Although I like the intercooler exposed look, I prefer the stealth look. This was an eBay purchase. Standard universal ABS honeycomb grill that cost me $20. Easy to cut and install. Bends to contour of lower grill. Bottom portion is installed by double stick tape and top portions of honeycomb grill are zip tied to the lower grill post.

I used the lower grill as a template to cut shape of the honeycomb grill.

I've got a custom lower grille too!

But today I got myself a helmet, been putting it off for too long. Autocross this Saturday with the Miata club.

I wish somebody would just make aftermarket intercooler grills, I feel like the intercooler is just a little too exposed.
Zunsport does, (I have their M-Sport logoed one on my car) but it is for the Euro/Brit/R.O.W. FiSTs, and it does not quite fit our bumper covers correctly (in the corners, which then pulls the factory grille insert it is attached to AWAY FROM the bumper's vertical posts it clips on to). [:(]

I wanted to replace my old Federal SS595s (195/55/15) with the Federal Formoza FD2 (195/60/15). Unfortunately, it seems the FD2s were not in stock and would take awhile to get.

Decided to use my SS595s instead to go across thr country since they still had some tread, but one of my rear Koni shocks busted and messed up my alignment a bit which caused my rear tires to wear unevenly. Went with my emergency backup option. Since Firestone shops are somewhat national and had Firestone replace them with the Firehawk AS. Ended up paying a little more than I wanted but so far I really like them. Now I just need to decide if I want to have the oem shocks put in or wait until I can either replace with the Koni Str.Ts. Would be a great time to go with the Bilstein B6/B8 if it weren't for the heavy backlog...

Only downside with these Firehawks are the 20-30k mileage expectancy based on reviews and the rep at the shop, even though the website says 50k. But these tires grip like a UHP summer tire in the dry and they are really quiet and smooth so far. If they keep this up, I might not mind using them again if necessary. Haven't had the opportunity to try them out in the wet yet (and I will still avoid snow as if they were a summer tire), but the reviews I've seen so far say they are pretty good in the wet too. Time will tell...

Icing on the cake, they look great too imho.

^^^Did you use 195/60s in the Firehawk all seasons?

Unless you go way up into the Sierras, or on an extended mountain road trip, WHERE would you ever see actual snow? [dunno]

Here's the new reservoir

Actually, looking at it again, I'm really glad this was done because the original reservoir looked like it wanted to fail super hard. I'm sure this one will eventually end up the same with all that heat in the engine bay but at least it is new.
warranty coolant tank is a version of the MK8 tank hmmmm

Probably same locations for connection points, just rounder. That and new molds were in use ramping up for mk8 production, so why go back to the old one.

And isn't it the tubing from the tank that had been cracking, nothing wrong with the tank for the recall?

Had an amazing day out with the Windy City Miata Club today. 68 degrees and mostly cloudy had the lot cool, but the day was very comfortable.

Only 1 other FiST out today - car 201. Had 4 FoRS, 1 FoST, 5 Mustangs, a Challenger, couple Corvettes, a Lotus Elise, and the rest Miatas.

My best lap was that 51.095. That was with a cone penalty and a near spin...should have been a solid 48.

Definitely need to get out more next year.

Had a GoPro on for a couple runs and my dashcam for them all. Will post up links once I go through and edit them down to the runs.

Got an alignment done (way out of spec up front after rotation) along with a wheel balance and had the Motul 300 I had lying around thrown in, too.

I imagine that if I didn't have the transmission adapter on I'd feel a more significant difference with the new fluid but it absolutely does feel better. Hard to describe a fluid change but it just feels tighter, more complete. Second gear is a shit ton less notchy but outside of a transmission rebuild I don't think it'll ever feel the way it should.

Wasn't able to get my new AWR mount installed, sadly. Soon, though.

Well, Amazon is sold out from the particular retailer but I'm sure there are other's that sell the latch camera:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073XQ3QKQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

As far as install instructions, I just followed the brbauer2 https://imgur.com/a/wZe8l and read through the forscan thread https://www.fiestastforum.com/forum...everse-backup-camera-discussion-thread/page23

Also watch a couple youtube videos of some Fiesta ST backup camera install, panel recovering, wiring to backup light, etc.
