Where is everyone getting Direzza and for $?

I was just guessing that he had chosen the only other Dunlop direzza product that exists that's sold at other than Tireracks website. I had a set of them for a brief time. I felt they were a good Street performance tire for the money. The guy who bought my Escort GT also liked em.

Wow, I guess Dunlop/Goodyear are FIRM believers in price control.

The least they could do is offer a full $100.00-$150.00 rebate/debit card deal once a year (not a piddly $60.00 offering) to lessen the very high cost of the Star Specs, if they are not going to allow price competition on their product.

If they are perceived as being a good product, and I would have to assume you agree that they are, then given the facts that they are produced in limited batch quantity it should not be much of an intellectual stretch for someone to decide if the small premium is worth it. I have two sets now. One shaved set and one full tread depth. I roached the first set by trying to use them outside their range of capability. I can highly recommend the shaved version for dry autocross play. Just don't waffle for too long! Your desired size might sell out.

I am curious as to about what kind of mileage one could expect out of the (full tread depth) Star Specs on the street, with NO; autocross, or track day/HPDE use at all, and only moderate to infrequent what everyone on here calls "canyon carving" use (even though we have NO 'canyons' anywhere around here LOL)?

They would NOT be allowed to freeze, nor would they be on the car in <45*F ambient temps.

Just trying to decide if it is worth buying these, at these prices, just to get the 8" tread width, and big edge blocks, over the 1/3rd the cost on the car, 240 tread wear, Federal 595 Evos, when I am rarely going to use/need that (probably much less than 200 tread wear in reality) sticky a tire for street use.

they are a soft compound tire. But, if you run them at highway speeds and get them hot for long periods time, they will heat cycle out, aka get harder/less sticky. If you drive more around town/ short trips, they would retain the stickiness for longer time. But, you need to understand that these tires are here for a good time, not a long time!

I did not think that (the heat cycling out factor) would happen as bad on (even the softer) 200 tread wear class tires, as it does on the 00-80 tread wear R compounds, or even the 100 tread wear class of tires, but it makes sense that it would.

It looks like the 595 Evos it is then.
