INSTALL GUIDE: European headlight installation with LED headlight bulbs and LED running light wiring

You've installed a bulb that is the wrong length for the projector. You can tell from that huge reflection above the cutoff. It looks like you have HID or some type of bulb that is longer than an H7. If light is emitted from a spot outside the zone the light is designed for, you get bleed beyond the proper cutoff.

If I wanted to put a KIT Led, what should I put or I have to consider?

The EURO headlight assemblies are not designed for HIDs.
Use of any HID will cause some distortion of the beam.

I believe offthewall claimed earlier in this thread that he adjusted the horizontal aim of the headlights. I believe it was said that it's the star bolt in the back of the headlights. I haven't messed with it myself and don't plan to. My lights seem fine, though.

I'll give this a shot as my pattern is just slightly off and wanted to fix it, thanks for the replies!

The only adjuster point on the rear of the assembly is a hex head that is the same as the vertical adjuster.
I have every book and manual on this car.
If there was a horizontal adjuster why would Ford keep it a secret?

Remember that these EURO assemblies also have an internal electric motor vertical adjuster.
It might be possible that one of the anchor points of these internal adjusters may be disconnected and throwing the beam off.

There is an E5 star bolt on the back of the assemblies to adjust horizontal aim. To adjust you have to remove the assembly, as the adjust is tucked into the fender.

You only need to remove the passenger side, and it's an E6 star bolt. :p

Drivers side can be adjusted without removal if you have a skinny enough socket.

Those bulbs won't work, you need an H7 bulb which can be put in the other way around, where the ground wire is at the 6 o'clock position instead of 12 o'clock. XenonSupply has the bulbs you need, it's not pictured but there is a tab on top AND bottom, which is what you need because with a traditional H7 bulb the tap will be on the bottom, with the ground wire facing up, when it should be down.

The bulbs you have WILL technically work, but you will have ground wire shadow and it affects light output drastically.

This is not true, these headlights are meant for electronic automatic adjustment in the European Fiesta, with that being said, there's no telling where the height is from the factory, most have found them to be level but myself and others had issues with them being uneven, or way low (@fST had this issue). The female hex that is right next to the high beam bulb boot is what is used for horizontal adjustment.

While this is partly true, the correct bulb will prevent distortion, it's all about spacing and how secure the bulb is. With the bulbs I mentioned above, they can be tweaked to clear up the cutoff, almost like focusing a lens on a camera. I found the trick to be to manually bend the bulb mounting tabs to ensure it sits as flush and as tightly as possible, haven't had any issues. I may try playing with these metal rings to space the bulb out even further, which should match the backspacing of a traditional H7 bulb. It isn't even necessary, but I'm anal and want the best performance as possible out of these.



I have had issues getting these 100% perfect, but it's because I've had to go back and forth with adjustments, and it's taken several weeks of removing/reinstalling and driving at night, experimenting with bulb mounting and tweaking accordingly. If you want to make it easy and just stick with the brightest halogen bulbs, grab the Osram Rallye H7 bulbs, they are brighter than any "blue" tinted "xenon" bulb you will see on eBay and auto parts stores. They look good even compared to halogens, and cut through rain really well. They are more towards the 3700k color range though, so more yellow than 4300k HID bulbs which are more close to true white. http://store.candlepower.com/osraulhiouh7.html

For those that don't want to deal with this, you could easily get the factory headlights retrofitted for roughly the cost of these European lights, but I love the LED DRL and it's a great conversation piece with other ST owners.

If you notice, the part that you indicate you have to be up at six o'clock, is sanded to rotate the bulb 180?. I don't have ground shadows ?

I'm sure you do have the glare, I might be wrong, but I tested it myself and noticed it immediately. Go to a place where you have a lot of room in front of you and see if you can make it out in the light pattern in front of the car.

Let's see if tomorrow I can take pictures in the garage, so you can clear doubts

So if I bought the 2 Stroke LED Morimoto get a cleaner cut in the Euro Headlight?

Assuming that were to achieve a good cut off ... What type of bulb could put to High Beams that illuminate more than the standard, or the standard compared to the Morimoto kit? Are clearer bulbs use Off Road?

I had no luck with the LED bulbs in there, they work, but don't come out too well in output and when driving.

You can try shifting the bulb around a bit but you aren't going to get it a whole lot better. Just how it is when putting HIDs (or LEDs for that matter) in housings meant for halogens.
