Is it normal to hear noise from gear box ?

When I shift into 1-2 I hear a noise from the gear box fiesta st is my first Manuel so I'm not really sure if it's a normal sound to hear in Manuel cars ?

Is it linkage noise, like closing an iron gate with a clunk?

This is a cable driven shift lever versus a rod. You will hear more clatter.
