probably late tonight after i get back from redondo beach's free concert, some reggae band called west swell is playing and they sound decent so imma take the fiance to go do that

my house is on breckenridge/viburnum on breckenridge dr in whittier if you know where that is

if not tonight, then tomorrow at some point, schedule permitting, I've gotten pretty good with the bumper; i can do that solo in under an hour on and off; it's the whole supporting the FMIC while trying to mount it and then fineagle my bumper back on

you can also come check the thing out too before I drop it in lol

At what point do these whole front end occupying ICs become 'diminishing returns' type mods??

In other words, is there not a detriment to power production with increased engine COOLANT/head temp/combustion chamber heat soak when the whole radiator is 100% blocked by the IC, which NEGATES any gains made from the greatly reduced charge air temps?! [confused]
(Yes, I know that air flows through the IC, but, it's temp IS raised by the hot charge air, and it is still not flowing as if the radiator had NOTHING in front of it.)

With some of the more aggro ones sure, but holding it in my hands its like a cobb one with an extra protrusion, the step isnt massive its 1" thick or so and extends 6, using the space ahead of the crash bar, meaning radiator flow is unchanged M-sport fan.

Overheating is already a problem even with cobb fmics etc, a coolant additive and the mishi radiator with redesigned shroud help mitigate the issue as does using something like the mishi oil cooler which separates the cooling system from the turbo oil cooling system, which imo is a big source of heat, my personal suspicion is the coolant crossover st the oil filter cooks the coolant when oil temps get hot.

I still have stock rad but since adding an additive to the coolant, i havent overheated the car.

Wagners site, however it now appears they have fixed a few of the errors.
Finally got around to putting this in this weekend.

It both does and does not fit.

It is definitely for EU cars and will not clear the crash bar if installed as intended, mounted ahead of the crash bar. However, given the big difference in relative positions of our crash bars, this means there is significant room behind the crash bar, and being a determined guy, I figured out how to make it work.

Believe it or not, the stepped core intercooler will slide right in behind the crash bar with a little finesse after unbolting and removing the original plastic mount pieces from the radiator core support piece. I used the hood latche's center spar to support the FMIC using the threaded hole in the top of the FMIC. The chargepipes will mate up, as is, but I trimmed the passenger side one down about 3/4in to make it connect without kinking.

Once that's done, it all fits behind the bumper within the confines of the stock bumper.

To keep airflow going to the FMIC I moved the flap that traps air on the underside of the crashbar and relocated that on top of the crash bar to seal it up there instead.

AP is currently MIA so I have no idea what changes in air charge etc are. On stock tune, stock airbox, stock downpipe w/ a muffler delete.

so you can buy it, and it will fit without cutting up your bumper or crash bar, but it won't fit as it is intended to.

^^^What exactly are the advantages again (IF ANY), of the Wagner unit as compared to the DHM Race unit, besides having to use DHM's crash bar?? [dunno]

Also, are not EITHER of these HUGE ICs 'overkill' for a pure factory stock turbo setup, regardless of 'tune'??! [???:)]

Well, the advantage is I got a ridiculous deal on it and nobody had any idea if they could be made to work on USA cars. So basically I proved it could be done, but as I had told them from the beginning it wouldnt bolt right up as they kept insisting.

It's a very nice piece and the black finish is rather stealthy.

At some point whilst it was at a dealer or shop my AP disappeared so datalogging is a ?. It's on the stock tune; I can dyno it though.

It certainly feels snappier than it did with the stock fmic and has not been bogging down like it usually does when heatsoaked despite the absurdly warm temps here this week (106*f?? Wtf FALL??)

Pics coming I went out and shot some good ones today and will pull the bumper again to shoot pics of how I did it.
