Bro, maybe the best thing that happened to you today is that you got all this out. Take some time and ask yourself why you're reacting the way you are. It could lead to some real self-awareness that might improve your relationships for the rest of your life. To tell me I'm irrelevant to you because I disagree about whether or not a piece of metal makes my car more powerful should be a red flag.

None of this is irrelevant to you, otherwise you would not have become so upset about it and cussed and me and put me down over a piece of metal.

Chill out, as I said I'm sure you're a great guy and maybe we'll have a beer together one day. Don't make it more personal that you already have. It's a simple discussion about cars - your continued insults are only hurting yourself.

Ok, I'm done now.

Glad I gave you some stuff to think about Hijinx. Now try to NOT get the last word, just walk away bro, no more insults, just walk away. It's just a car bro. Just a car.

IT'S A CAR, CORAL...

A CAR...

Speaking of Coral, here's one of my favorites:

I don't know about others, but personally I'm sticking with 93, just because that's what's around, and I don't want to deal with the rest on my daily driver, if that makes sense.
93 is the best we get here in Georgia where I live. I've read about some folks on here who got great custom tunes out of ethanol fuels, but that's not an option here. Bummer.

E-blends are simply brought up due to their 'cheap' power but I think that the majority of owners simply stick with premium due to the convenience and availability. I would like to run E30 and will eventually tune for it, but the only station I have is 15 miles away and not in a convenient place for my commute.

I'll still be buying an intake for fancy whooshy noises & a catback for gurgling and popping.

Jeff says what? I wont read what Jeff says because Jeff is blocked.
Yeah, I took a few minutes to run a quick search on all his posts on this forum and found out that it is an easy conclusion that jeff is a simpleton prick with a blind "faith" such that when he believes in "something" then all who disagree are the "problem" and need to be "saved". He persists even when presented with overwhelming evidence in personal experience and independent reviews that show he's wrong. I call such persistent blind faith "religion".

I just realized that this is exactly what it's like raising teenagers-no matter how hard you try to explain how things work and why they're wrong they will fight you to tooth and nail because they're convinced that they have the world figured out. You can try and guide them the best you can but ultimately you just have to hope that they'll understand why you were right once they're older and have more experience.
this perfectly describes some senior citizens here. they get tuned out... [hihi]

Yeah, here in the Augusta area we are small fries...but I'm sure close to Atlanta where you live there are plenty of options.

Heck, the Ford dealer here didn't even know what a Fiesta ST was. Then the next day they called me back and told me they had one. It was a Focus ST. Small town.

It's always worse when they have all of the means to collect data to prove/disprove their theory but adamantly refuse. I call that refusal an acknowledgement of their cognitive dissonance. People often don't try to prove their side when they know they're wrong.

I don't live in Atlanta. Same thing at dealers around here.

Real dyno by reputable company > virtual dyno by person with high post count.

Real dyno by reputable company > virtual dyno by person with high post count.
Real dyno by person with a vested interest in getting the money that's in your pocket that you probably worked for > Established members that have done or led the majority of third-party testing to help spread knowledge, have nothing to gain from it, and don't want/need your money.

There, I fixed it for you, but I left your sign so that you can see what you value.

Yep, I have a CP-E intake and it looks and sounds good. I wasn't expecting any gains with it, and honestly, I have no idea if I got any.
Just like all my other mods, I'm stage 3 now and it is a huge difference from stock but I really don't care if I needed all those parts for stage 3 but damn the car feels good and sounds amazing, for me.
It is just money, after all...

Exactly! You're doing WTF you want because you want it and like it. Doesn't matter WTF others have to say about it. Good for you.

As you say, if you enjoy what you have, go with it. Who cares what other people think.

I have been wanting to click on this thread for a while but I was already stage 3 and didn't care much about it. After clicking and reading all the bickering that was going on I felt the need to reply.

There are VERY knowledgeable people on this forum and I enjoy reading their input about mods to the FiST. At this point, I do wish I had went DHM quickspool turbo kit considering the money I have already spent but my wife daily drives the car and I don't think she would like it, so I had to compromise for her and myself. It seems to have worked out great because she comments to me all the time how she loves driving it, every day.

Intakes have been heavily discussed about this car and I knew going in that the CP-E was not necessary for my upgrade path, but I wanted it, and the wife approved!

I hope I haven't said too much! [driving]

Just because it's a virtual dyno it doesn't mean it's not an accurate tool. He took two measurements with the same tool. One before the intake and one with the intake. The numbers prove that the intake doesn't do much.

Even some real dynos read higher than others. But if you measure on the same dyno under the same conditions then you can see the difference a part makes. Wether it's virtual or real doesn't matter. What matters that you used the same measuring tool under the same conditions.

okay but the thing is the OP did what he wanted............. and then turned around and made claims that HIS WAY is the BEST WAY.

If you make claims like "oh this intake gives 10 horsepower!" then people are going to call you out on it. We didn't say he was stupid for getting an intake. I think most of us who criticized it actually HAVE intakes ourselves. But they are literally horrible from a performance/dollar standpoint and trying to prove otherwise is a fools errand. That is the single, solitary point that we are all trying to make.

If someone came in my build thread and started bitching and moaning about how I built my car, I'd say... yeah, you might be right... but I don't have anything to prove, and I haven't made any claims of any type. I built my car to make me happy. If I were building it solely for power, I wouldn't have an intake or downpipe or BOV or exhaust. These mods have almost no quantifiable difference power wise (on the stock turbo), but they add something to the far that I enjoy... sound. But then I wouldn't expect anyone to question my choices, unless, for example, I was running around saying stuff like "this intake nets you 10hp" or "this BOV gained me a solid 20hp" or similar.

That is the difference between "doing WTF you want because you want it and like it" and what OP has done here: falling for marketing BS and then defending it to the death.
