On previous cars I have used the dry flow filter and worked well. I am skeptical to use a oil filter because of the issue of more dirt being let in. What is your guys take on the oil drop in filters?

Personally, I wouldn't waste my money on any drop in filter. They aren't doing much. I'd put that money away and save up for something more useful. Just my .02

If you need a drop in, k&n or green are good

If you utilize a high flow air filter and a velossatech snorkel it does silly...they have some info in the snorkel thread. It's worth it vs. "CAI" when you think about it.

I don't think that has been substantiated by any third parties, lol.

So your saying a a judge with a Ram air hood setup didn't produce anymore power than a one without ram air setup on it? But hey it must not have been substantiated by no third parties right so it didn't work....[rofl]

I guess a Judge with a Ram air hood was also using a torque-based tune, huh? [rofl]

Nevermind, you won't understand. Every FoST owner that I know who has a snorkel installed has said there's no gain but they like the looks. I would explain why my car comparison is valid and yours isn't but I already inadvertently did.

So yeah, get familiar with torque-based tuning because that will help you significantly more on this platform than being pedantic about a typo.

There's actually nothing wrong with being a perfectionist or punctual these days. As the English language has become such a weekend trollup by a lot([wrenchin]) of people anyways. Just trying to keep it alive and not becoming PC.

You mean a lot correct? Alot has not yet been formally accepted grammatically or dictionarally.

I prefer non-oiled drop-in's if you want to be safe. Manufacturers are finally getting engine efficiency down these days so I see no need to go crazy, so I went with a paper drop in I can blow out with a compressor, one small hole drilled into the bottom of the air box and the snorkel. I left the colored lip off when I ordered. Function over form, and the snorkel works, trust me.

K&N here for the fact that i dont plan on installing an intake and the factory filters are $20 a piece. The K&N was $45 so after 24,000 miles(12k mile change interval per Ford) i have already saved money on buying another factory paper filter.
