You spoiled the fun lol. Reams of paper labeled as "car parts". I'm sure the U.S. Attorney would love easy conviction cases like this.

Another email

"To those two guys saying let the law deal with it...like i told you... Im refunding you and everyone else, but i cant stop anyone from continuing to pursue any action they may have taken/are taking/or wish to take. Im not begging you or the other guys. Im not saying someone else took the money or blamining anything on anyone but myself. Im being pretty transparent with you , apologizing, owning up to it, and trying to make it right. Believe me, it is not something i intend to ever do again, but how everyone else continues to pursue this matter is their choice. Also, its reams of paper that i sent you."

I just want to start with getting my money back--thankfully I didn't gift it. If there's actually remorse that is easy.
That's great, you did the correct thing.
I hope others learn from what has happened here and use the proper procedures.

I would encourage ALL that got scammed to file a complaint. If you don't he's likely to do this again somewhere else and perhaps not get caught this time. Don't let his remorse sway your decision to hold him accountable for his actions.

So... Exactly how many people did this guy attempt to scam? He must read up on Austin Oakes.

BTW,
That has to be about 3 cases of paper at $50.00 each.
I hope he bought them at Stapes, they're on sale

On FF the B/S/T section isn't available to be accessed by members that haven't met a 30 day/25 post-count minimum limit. This deters the people that are 'backed into a corner' from creating an account just to scam and helps put members 'on the radar' when they're new and post-whoring with a clear objective. It may alienate a few 'honest' people that are just trying to clean their garage, but it protects the majority.

Another thread has been started for these suggestions.
The staff will be discussing then soon.

The individual in question is an account with nothing but for sale posts. That is shady as hell and it screams scam. I hope everything is resolvable by Pay Pal for you all. :(

So I was issued a refund by Xavier at 9:45pm. It's pending in PayPal now not sure if it will actually go through and post positive but the note was interesting.

"I'm issuing you a refund, hope this works. And I'm really sorry to have dragged you in with this as a result of the problems in my own life"

Kind of wonder if the he's alright. Message seems sincere enough. Anyone else issued a refund?

I would have posted a screen shot of the PayPal transaction but it looks like the app blocks screen shots.

Read the last few pages, he has issued refunds for everyone and apologized.

Here's the thing... If he needed money this badly, would he have not spent it already? On his books, tuition, etc? Why does he have it all lying around, available to just issue refunds? Hell, maybe we were test dummies or case study.

Or there's another scam in another community that covers this debt...
