Clicking sound from hinge when opening and closing door

I've been getting a clicking sound coming from the hinge when I open and close the driver's door. Doesn't always do it. Anyone else ever experienced this? It's coming from the top hinge as far as I can tell. I haven't done any further troubleshooting because I tend to forget about it until I hear it and I'm usually having to do something when I get in or out of my car and I've kinda gotten used to hearing it. If it's any easy fix I'd rather not hand it over to the dealership monkeys. I need to just at least see if the bolts are loose and lubricate the hinge. Just thought I'd ask while I'm thinking about it if anyone else has had the issue.

I've had this issue long ago with a different car, but some lubricant on the hinge fixed it. White lithium grease is what I used IIRC.

Finally got around to actually looking into it. Sprayed some silicone spray I have used in home door hinges to stop squeaks and it has worked. Didn't really seem to fix it so I checked the tightness of the bolts. The bolts to the door on the top hinge were both loose so I went ahead and tightened them up. Checked the bottom and they were fine. Opened and closed the door a few times and no more noise. Figured it would be an easy fix, I was just too lazy to pull out my tools to get it done or kept forgetting about it. Glad it didn't have to be escalated to a dealer to fix it.

Thank You. I had this issue for a couple weeks now and after seeing your post, made me want to fix mine. Sure enough, the 2 upper bolts were loose. Tightened them and things are good again.

Thanks for posting this! My driver door started making that clicking sound and thanks to your post my door is nice and quiet again. Top hinge bolts loose on mine too. Tightened up and all good now! Went and checked all the others too and just the drive door was loose. Thanks Again!
