Durable lug nuts?

Feel free to flame me if I missed this thread somewhere [gunfire]

Anyone have any good recommendations for lug nuts which will be durable? The OEM lug nuts are starting to strip despite using a 6-point socket. (Maybe it's a cheap socket.) In any case, is it the consensus that Gorilla lug nuts are the way to go? The car is a daily driver and sees occasional autocross/HPDE use with OEM wheels and likely aftermarket (Team Dynamics or OZ) wheels in the near future. Appreciate the help!

I have been very happy with McGard lug nuts. The factory lug nuts with the silly little beauty caps are a joke.

It uses 2 different locking mechanisms. It's not 100 undefeatable, but it will stop most kids from stealing your wheels, and they are sturdy as hell.

I agree with you about the beauty caps. Thanks for the recommendation on McGard. I've used them in the past.

Gorilla lug nuts have held up very well. I rotate my tires every 4500 miles, with no problems with the Gorilla nuts.

Mcguard spline and lock kit. Runs about 90 to 100 on Amazon. Uses 2 different locking mechanisms. It's not 100 undefeatable, but it will stop most kids from stealing your wheels, and they are sturdy as hell.
Thanks also for the recommendation. Sounds a bit expensive, but definitely cheaper than replacing stolen wheels.

Do you all have OEM wheels or aftermarket?

I have the McGard's. The finish is durable. Won't get scratch easily. The Rays are good lug nuts also but expensive.

I have used Gorilla open end, short length, spline drive lug nuts for years even on all out race cars without a single issue and they save weight and cost a lot less than aluminum lug nuts that need replaced often.

Most of the aftermarket lug nuts I have seen do not have a deep enough taper that matches the OEM spec. I know McGard make them specifically for the Fiesta/Focus.

I bought the McGard #65457 which is specc'd for OEM FiST wheels, but the seats look awfully slim compared to the originals.
McGard isn't open on weekends, so I'm not installing until I speak to them. Is this even safe to use?

Thanks interesting because I have the McGard lock nuts and they are deep taper like the OE lug nuts and advertised in this way to suite the Fiesta/Focus.

I am in the same situation with my wife's Escape. The dealer damaged pretty much all of the lug nuts last fall when they rotated the tires. I want to get a replacement set of lug nuts for her summer wheels (OEM wheels) and not sure what to get. The aftermarket ones I have seen use a much different looking taper. I was going to measure the angle and diameter of the stock ones today, but ran out of time. I would assume they are the same as the Fiesta OEM.

I'd like to point out to those who still have the factor lug nuts- you should never use an impact wrench on the stainless capped factory nuts.

This is exactly what the set I purchased looks like. I called McGard, however, and they confirmed that the McGard part is correct. I double-checked this with my engineer friend, and he also said it's fine. So, I'm going to use them. Hope this information helps someone in the future.
