Thanks

Yeah, this is only a 100 cell cat so its pretty free flowing, plus I have the mbrp exhaust which is one of the louder exhausts available. Over all I like it.
Did you have the MBRP exhaust on with the stock downpipe before this? I'm curious as to how much of that loudness is from the downpipe - I've heard those MBRP exhausts are quite loud. Your thoughts on before/after would be helpful. I'm very interested in this dp; I can't even find used catted downpipes for this price.

I know catless ones are cheaper, but I spent enough time in environmental chemistry and environmental economics to have that guilt.

Its louder under load for sure. Its louder at cold start up too. But at temp it sounds almost the same at idle and normal driving.

Are you talking about your MBRP exhaust, or only before/after changing downpipe with the same exhaust?
After the DP with the MBRP exhaust. There is a video on here with me revving it.
There are several videos and threads on the MBRP exhaust. It drones pretty bad under heavy load but for daily use it isn't bad at all.

I'm not asking about the MBRP exhaust at all. I was asking if the MBRP is the constant in before/after installing this depo racing downpipe. Which did you have first- the downpipe or cat back, or did you get them at the same time?

I want to know if there is a noticeable sound difference after installing the downpipe. I'm only interested in the downpipe this thread is about.

If you add this pipe to a stock exhaust, you wont get drone and it probably wont be to loud. . Once you have a full 2.5" or bigger full straight thru exhaust it will get some sort of drone, this is true for any car, I tried adding 4 baffle sections to a 3" on my Evo X to no avail, My wife said it was too loud, lol. I then put the stock back on with a testpipe, hope this helps.

I'm pretty sure all downpipe brands are nearly the same size, sound difference between different brands will be minimal

Nice to have these Downpipes at a good price especially for a catted which I will probably get . Thinking about paring a Cobb or MAP cbe with depo dp. Are there any pics of the IC?

Thanks for the interest. The inter coolers will be here by the end of the month then the pipes in March . I can't wait. My inter coolers have performed with the best of them in Evo x , focus st, gen coupes , my sponsored Evo x is still the worlds fasted pump gas Evo x in the world for 5 years. this won't be a cheap low cost kit . It will be the best kit made and it will be priced right I only sell direct no dealer markups. No importer markup. Very low overhead.

Yup...felt this way too to the point I spent $400 on my DP. Then I see every diesel truck or big rig puffing out huge clouds of black smoke. You can't even have your windows down on a nice day cause' you know some A-hole is looking for the opportunity to gas you as he leaves a light. So catless for me!

Update for my original post. Little review and some pointers on install.

First thing i would like to say is the Depo Catless downpipe is a great value and bang for the buck. Fit and finish was perfect. I am running it with the stock cat back and the noise level is only slightly louder then before.

Some pointers for those that take on the install. I would say it is a must to chase the treads on the bolts and the threads in the turbo. Also i took the cat out from the bottom. Went pretty easy just take your time and walk it out by twisting and turning.

Overall I'm very happy and would highly recommend this DP.
Any chance you can upload a video of the sound? I'm really interested to hear it paired with the stock exhaust.
