Pierce Motorsports Lower Chassis Brace

I wanted to start upgrading the suspension and wanted to get a Pierce Motor Sport lower chassis brace. They come as a tie bar (2point mount), a 4 point mount, and a 6 point mount. Would the 6 point be over kill for a daily driver? It was be about $70 more than the four point.

The 2pt brace ties the A arms together.
The 4pt brace not only does that but also ties to the K member/sub frame.
Remember that the K member/sub frame just hangs and can still flex within the body structure.
The 6pt brace additionally ties the K member/sub frame to the body thereby eliminating most of this flex.
This provides better steering response and control.

As to over kill, that depends on how you want your car to handle.

I just installed the two point, and looking at the suspension layout and crossmember, I really don't see a need for anything more. Everything is fairly beefy under there, so more metal looks to be just more weight.

I do agree with most of your statement.
However, using the 6pt brace and removing additional flex between the K member and the body makes a BIG difference.
I have had all three on my car so I have seen the difference first hand.

I went with the 6 point for the reasons Dave stated. The K member is tied to the body. My car handles like its on rails now. No flex.

With the 6 point are you still getting the same rotation from the rear?
Yes, the car still rotates well, but I have no wheel lifts on the inside wheel when I turn. I also have the two rear bars, the rear trunk brace, and the other is a rear torsion bar. I think there is only one brace that I don't have, it sits in the center of the car, and is called the midship brace. I'm very pleased with Jim's products.

Anyone know the weight reduction vs the stock brace for the mid brace?

The weight for the midship brace is listed as 2 lbs I would assume it is either the same or slightly heavier that the stock one. I may get it, as its on sale now.

I have these plus the midship brace plus the Eibach Swaybar and the car is very neutral now. I love the way it handles.

the only one that gets me scratchin my head is the mid-brace. Its just a random spot on the body, I just don't see how that one does anything.

Just looking at the description it gives more room for a 3" exhaust and it is suppose to be lighter than the stock brace.

Yeah I gotta agree with this. Seems like it is the least useful brace, but what do I know. I'm no engineer haha.

I have the 4 point brace and it works well. I don't have any experience with the 2pt brace or the 6pt brace on this car so I can't tell you the difference. Its been argued a few times on here that anything over the 2pt brace is overkill, but who knows.

that "mid-brace" if that's what you call it is nothing more than a stamped piece of steel. Its really not all that heavy, and I just used a couple of washers to give my MBRP exhaust a little bit more room.

Thank you all for the guidance and feed back. I am impressed with this cars natural rear rotation and want it unchanged but also want to greatly reduce body roll and inside rear lift. All this on stock height and the rear rotation unchanged would be awesome.
