depends on where you go. at least, out here in socal, theres ford of orange.

seriously ask for mary doyle. coolest service writer ever. high quality human being. can't say enough about her.
I promise, I'm generalizing. I know plenty of good people work dealerships. Plenty of nice great people traffic cops too, lol. But in general.... Lol.

The direct injection is what we are paying for on our engine and that Bosch ECU. The turbo is cheap. The manifold doesn't fit. The trans is FREAKING AWESOME. Tiny parts bin brakes, lol. But we all do realize the fiesta Titanium cost more than a fist, right? They don't even get the engine.... Or great trans.
Makes sense, yea I feel like we get a ton of car for the money compared to other new cars today

I think we do.... A lot may go into a CVT trans in a 2.5L Altima too. But no matter how good it does what its supposed to do, its still a piece of crap to me, lol.

The biggest issue for me, having grown up in a dealership, is that the quality has tanked. Used to be you were walking cash and carpets were laid, and champagne fell from the heavens.

Now.. we pay even more and put up with 4 times the shit. Service and people wise.

Unacceptable.

Wow, leave for a few weeks and come back to 6 pages of comments. To everyone who has similar issues, my attempts to use this entire near 5 month ordeal to pinpoint the issue and help the community has failed. Ford is incompetent in every realm of technical service and customer follow up.

Update: Dealer verified the same noise is back and is the same noise that led to engine replacement #1 from a Ford Engineer.

Corporate called me a day after the dealer verified and gave me the almost carbon copy corporate script. They're not willing to even attempt to get me out of this vehicle. They are only willing to continuously tear my car apart while the dealer service record racks up records on a future vehicle report and I already have to explain why the odometer doesn't match the engine. Lady swore up and down if for sure have a call back with an update about what Ford was going to do by Wednesday. No call as of today.

I got printouts of all my service trips and have kept every voicemail from Ford and the dealer. If Ford tells me to pound sand again legal action is coming.

FORD CORPORATE IS CRIMINALLY PATHETIC. I know another guy going through total hell right now with a loaded Ford vehicle, brand new. I heard one of the voicemails he got from Ford, SAME LADY, SAME script. Ford doesn't care dick about their customers or each situation. They just want you to go away quietly while you continue to get fisted. Heard it right from the dealers mouth, they said "when it comes to corporate they are clueless with working with their own dealers. The left hand doesn't know what the right is doing."

And please Ford Service who's on these boards, feel free to pass it on that I'm going to continue to give Ford all the "free advertising" I possibly can.
So if there are criminal as you say, why havent started legal action? According to you the car is no good and should be bought back. What does your legal team think about it?

Probably because it's just not worth it financially to take legal action against ford. If he just sold his car right now Hed prob take hit of 3-4k but if he tried to fight ford legally he'd definetly lose a lot more then that

I agree. Im just trying to figure out where this guy is trying to go with his argument. It seems hes just so mad that hes letting his emotions take over the reality of things. He wants a car to be bought back that hasnt been proven theres an actual issue or problem that prevents the car from operating properly and unsafe. Based off all the comments the guy posted FORD replaced the engine more to do with customer satisfaction(because of a noise) than there being a actual problem that caused the car not work properly. I understand the owner of the car being just buying it because it makes noises that bother him but seems they are normal noises that others have too an there cars are running just fine.

Agreed, I understand it can be nerve racking all these noises. My car makes a rattle clicking noise from the flywheel location sometimes, it sounds almost like a Diesel engine and when I switch gears it comes through but once I hit the gas it's perfectly fine and has all the power it should. If it runs and drives fine with all the power it should have and it just makes a little noise... I'm of the opinion that it's just that a nagging noise. I have the standard warranty and only 4k on the car so if something goes wrong or it becomes more then just a noise I can always bring it in, but for now w.e man lolol

Just drive the car and say fuck it to the noise man, stop being so picky. If it stops driving like it should u still have like 30k left on the warranty, if something's gonna happen it will happen in the next 30k miles. Thread/

Funny I just saw this post. My first motor went out about 4 months ago because of a defective head. Took them 3 months to get me my new motor (I was told they where back ordered and they just produced 10 more) So we probably got the same batch as I just got my car back 2 weeks ago. Such bolshit. My new motor also knocks like that but from what I've gathered it is a normal sound and it has since went away mostly. Started at 500 miles at now and 700 I haven't heard it again.

At this point I no longer care. If the motor pops again I'm buying a junkyard motor and throwing it in while I have a bad ass long block built up.

I understand and can recognize the direct injection noise, I have two cars with it.

However, that distinct knocking noise is not what I would call normal. On another thread, the fix was a broken spring in the dual mass flywheel.

I've listened to many of these videos and mine is not making this noise, but if it does, I'd like to know about solutions too.

I would think if that was the issue, it would go away if you push in the clutch. Mine makes the same sound as the videos in the thread you linked, but only at idle, clutch makes no difference for me.

Yep sure enough kept reading and "No-Pistons" noise went away with the clutch being pushed in. His is a different issue.

Otherwise, I think it's normal, probably not ideal per say, but normal. There's too many people that have that noise without any issues for it to be a problem... The OP of this thread from my understanding hasn't had any issues other than the noise. If it were something with the engine that's out of spec, I think it would cause a failure or poor performance or something along those lines fairly quickly. My guess is they replaced his engine just to keep them from attracting bad publicity. Ford has been really trying to rebrand themselves lately and doesn't want "Faulty Engines" to appear in a headline...

OP, if your car has had more than 4 attempts to get repaired OR has been in the shop for more than 30 days, you easily have a lemon law claim.

http://www.michigan.gov/sos/0,4670,7-127-1585_50410_50412-23885--,00.html

AFAIK, Ford will be forced to pay your attorney fees too. Please go after them as I for sure had a lemon (automatic) Focus SE (clutch needed complete replacement after 9k miles, other issues as well) but luckily was able to get rid of it and get a '16 Fiesta ST

OP motor didn't POP, Ford replaced it because of a noise. but ford doesn't think its an issue which is why there not replacing the new motor.
