That is the true fun, modding a little car and taking on others that are not expecting it, the more costly the car the usually more arrogant and most often less skilled the driver the more fun it is. I have purposely built my car to do such things, on track, on occasion I have to admit it is tempting at other times
It has far more power than I really need except to hang with some pretty intense cars on longer straights on track, if not for that the Cyborg would of been more than enough for my needs and fun level. When I had the first one tuned to just 220WHP I was 5 seconds faster around the MMP outer loop, one of the fastest and thus HP tracks in the US than the national champ Spec Miata record and 4 seconds slower than a newly built and very costly Caymen R full race car, with the current approx 300WHP and soon 325 or more......I would like to drive that track again
I gave a ride to a C6 Vette and a newer Porsche owner recently and they were blown away by my cars power, handling and brakes and it was just a short ride and not all out. I also gave a ride to my business manager/partner than owns several modded and fast big bore sport bikes, damp roads, not enough grip even in 4th, he was shocked at how quick the car is even in that condition(where a bike can bight you in the arse instantly if not very careful especially, I know, I've been through a bus stop at 70MPH, not fun)

rallytaff,
Welcome to the higher up the hill gang of FiST owners, over the hill is when we die in my opinion and how I live my life, in a few months I will be 64, not long after 65 and looking forward to it
I retired at 60 but sometimes think of starting a new business, like the last one for fun and independence but in a different field to make it more interesting.
We were at Lake Elsinore for 6 days or so a few weeks ago, it would of been great to meet up with our SoCal brothers, and any sisters of course, just rained all the time. Not sure when we will be in the area again but will post it up and gladly meet up, share rides, etc....at an event would be even better, autocross, track day, just a meet....I used to arrange car audio meets and competitions years ago in the San Diego area, great fun.
35MPG is the factory rating so not bad considering driving it like it was meant to be used and if you are happy with the power then great, enjoy it as you are of course
Have a great weekend!
Rick
