I lost the key to my fiesta (long story) but I have the back-up key blade. I was wondering if it possible to start the car with only the key blade? Let me know if this works or if you know how to do it.
Not good. The blade gets the door open, then you have to hold the key body next to the flat rubbery circle on the side of the steering column (has a symbol that looks a bit like a wi-fi symbol) then press the start button and should be ok.
Thanks! I'm going to stop by the ford dealer to see if they can program a key without my car there. I hope this works out... My car is stuck in a parking lot in Vail charging $25 a day.
I bought mine new and they only gave me 1 programmed key, told me I'd have to spend my time bringing them my key back so they could program another 'if I wanted'. Haven't done it yet, probably going to do it at the 15,000 mile service.

They picked the car up in Charlotte and drove it to Raleigh for me, so I was kinda mad about that but then they must of also left the 2nd key there as well...
I wonder? Don't want to be the first to try it - what if it didn't start but the steering lock engaged?? Any members in San Francisco volunteering to give it a go?
I think your best bet would be to get your car towed home. At least that way you don't get charged 25 bucks a day for being in that parking lot and it will give you time to go to a dealer to purchase and reprogram a new key FOB. Best of Luck!!!
