You really like the mbrp better?? I must be getting old and grouchy because the damn thing was pounding my head before I welded in a rear muffler

Honestly, it's only slightly louder than my Cobb setup. Now, if I let the rear seats down, it's too much. Thing is I always get a kudos when completing my hearing tests so I guess it's all boils down to preference/tolerance. My biggest issue is drone, seeing that I don't get any while cruising or accelerating (some on decel) I have no worries.

Strange, that doesn't sound like my exhaust at all. I have drone while 70mph+ cruising, accelerating and decelerating.

I have the cyborg turbo, ported manifold and catless downpipe so the difference probably lies therein. I think we won't have the same resonant frequencies due to my larger diameter throughout the entire exhaust system.

Completed my sound deadening project. The back seats are down 99% of the time and so the noise coming from the back was very loud. Hopefully it's a bit quieter now.

Shouldbeasy,

Now you need to finish the deadening;)
Nice work but I wish you had seen my HOW TO guide in my site, raamaudio.com.

If you line it with some ensolite foam it will be far better.

In fact less mat and Ensolite combined, per the HOW TO guide on my website would of saved some time and weight.

Matt products are needed but only serve a limited purpose and do little to help on already solid surfaces so I only use it as needed to seal up access holes like the ones under the hatch trim panels, doors, pillar holes, and on resonate prone areas.

Then I use Ensolite over most everything I can get to including back of trim panels, hard surfaces under seats, under the dash, etc....

So you know I have a pretty good idea of this I have shipped tens of thousands of orders around the world for 15+ years, have been a competitor and judge, know many of the all time top installers, guided quite a few into winning world titles and wrote at least 1 million emails helping others decide what will work the best and have the best customer service reputation in the industry.

I most highly recommend adding Ensolite, it will make a big improvement over the work you have done.

I am retired, this is meant as a helpful post far more than a sales pitch, I promise:)

Sincerely
Rick

Rodmoe,

VERY COOL, CONGRATS:):):)

Mind sharing the cost on that kit minus the turbo since you already had it?

I will be sporting an EFR before long as well but starting with an adapter to install the turbo on the stock ported manifold. If that does not do quite what I want I am considering building a very compact as equal length manifold as possible to still fit the new DP I am going to build.

Looking forward to getting to see the results on your install, Matt at Panda would love to tune it for you, he has an EFR on his Focus and has been dying to tune one on the FiST.

Damn I wish I was home so I could start my EFR build!!!!!!

Fun times ahead for us both:)
Rick

Thanks for the heads up on Ensolite - I'm not a crazy audiophile, just enjoy a solid sounding system with as little rattle as possible! Plus, having the sound deadening helps with the gravel noise which i'm not a big fan of.

Any input is appreciated - I think the reason we post pics is for the feedback we receive.

I finally decided to get the Borla catback. I have no plan to upgrade my exhaust yet but the sales rep from 4wheelonline offered me a good price on Borla. I'm excited to have it installed.
