Well after some more driving car wont add boost unless floor it. If it does make some boost it releases it when it reaches some sort of target. I will send Adam a log when i get to some empty road.

Which screw are you missing? All in all, as long as it is secure and not rubbing against anything...especially the lines (coolant and oil) to the turbo and wiring in the area... You should be fine. Any increased gaps from where the shield used to be may or may not allow for increased heat in the area.
I actually only have the bottom and the upper passenger side screws in because I can't line up the drivers side or the bottom passenger side. I hope I can recover the screw that fell... I haven't been able to find it.

With the new IWA installed, I have traded 1 set of logs and a tune with Adam to adjust for the IWA. After the first revision of the Tune+ IWA tune below is the new boost curve produced with this thing. Much better than the stocker :)! Thanks Adam and as always Great customer service!

20psi up top instead of the factory 14psi. [hihi]
Yep and feels great. Also, NO MORE PARTIAL THROTTLE SURGING!!! I tried to make it do it earlier today...at partial throttle, the boost and other parameters were as steady as can be.

Installed mine last week. Very happy with it. As with the rest of you I want to destroy that heat shield. I did get it back on with only one bolt missing, I just couldnt get it to line up. Gives me a good product idea though! ;]

I just so happen to have access to a dyno.... the end result was not meaningful because the extra boost was creating a throttle closure problem.

Even so, boost at 6700 rpm went from ~12 psi to about 16 psi.... However, the throttle angle at that point was 50 degrees. I am easily seeing >20psi at redline on the street. This product works! I have seen up to 25.6 psi as well on the street. Now to hone in the tune...

Thank you Adam!

Nice update and reply...I am personally interested in results and not necessarily just dyno numbers. As it sits, with just switching from my old pro-tune to Adam's tune with the IWA...I'm yielding a consistent .5 second reduction in time on a 3rd gear pull from 3000rpm to 6500rpm. The is in roughly 10 degrees warmer temps outside. I want to get this thing to a strip to see where it's at.

I'm going to be installing my Wastegate Actuator next week. Does anyone know the size of the bolts that hold the shield onto the engine. I may just try using a stud and nut combination, if I can order them today or tomorrow.

I think they are 8mm. The pain is that there are 2 lengths and the first 3mm is not threaded so it's hard to get it to bite if you've managed to warp it like I did.

This would make it much easier to get back on.. Especially with the lower bolt on the passenger side. Only problem is, will it interfere with getting the shield in place.

This wastegate makes the car so much more consistent. I love it... But in hind sight I would have cut off the old shield, bought a new one for 20 bucks and modified it so I wouldn't have to bend anything. Sure it would let some heat in but better than pulling on coolant lines and going through hours of pulling and cutting fingers and knuckles. Tasca sells it for 17 bucks before shipping.

I can really see the improvement in the datalogs boost holds much longer. But at this time it seems I have some other issue making my bpv surge and Adam has been trying to figure this out.

You saying that problem will be fixed when properly tuned?

Fully tuned from Adam with this wastegate. Wow he works fast! On 91 gas I am seeing boost at 24 psi from 2800 to about 4800 and then slightly tapering down to 20 psi at redline! I can't wait to see how much more can be gained when going to an e30 tune!

Sweet. Can't wait to see what he does with my 93 then. Never really paid attention to the psi on the upper end but I guess I'll start now.

I see between 21 and 24 regularly on hard pulls on his revised tune for my 93 tune now.

How does it feel driving?
I'm curious what that extra boost up top feels like!

I'm installing mine after xmas, when I have some time off from work.
Looking forward to wrestling with the heat shield .... not!

It feels very smooth. There is no mid range fluctuation of boost (surging). Also past 5,500 rpm the engine still feels like it is pulling. It doesn't feel like you have to shift because the power isn't there. I will be at streets of willow this Saturday to see the improvement of this set up (on 91 octane) as last time I was there my best lap was 1:32. I am going to shoot for the 1:30 hoping all that extra top end helps out.
