I considered leaving my heat shield off because it kicked my butt, but i wondered if it would affect the hpfp & lines right above the manifold, so I muscled that s.o.b. back on.
I could see the cause for concern but it's been off since spring and have had no issues.

I posted some, but I'm assuming you want a 3rd party.
Well yeah, it's always good to have 3rd party results, especially since different people have different builds going on... helps paint a better picture of expectations. Wasn't meant as a slight. :)

Tune + IWG Installed.jpg Zip Ties 1.jpg Zip Ties 2.jpg

I installed the WGA today, and I ended up leaving off the top heat shield when I put the car back together. Its winter and much cooler temps, and I might find an alternative such as a heat blanket when summer heats things up in Houston. That top shield is stupid to remove, and I want easier access to the WGA and to monitor that the preload settings don't move from where I set them today.

Picture 1 is the WGA and with preload set per Adam's video instructions. Adam was kind and responded quickly when I sent him this picture and asked if this looked like it was set up correctly. He said that it looked great.

The other photos are my solution to the metal clips that Ford supplied to secure the two pieces of our cowl together. I drilled a hole through each of the 12 (total) plastic tabs that was just big enough to run a zip tie through, and then I secured it all together once completed. No more clamps tearing at the plastic and IMO this is thumbsup and easier to remove.

I just finished mine as well. I'll post pics up later. I did not have to remove the cowl. the spark plugs and the WGA took about an hour and a half.

I'm looking forward to some tips... I've attempted this twice and I would like to NOT take the cowl off this time. Quick question or three... How do you hold the flapper closed when you are setting the preload?

As I understand it, it's held closed naturally, and then you make a mark on the nut and turn it three full times around and then spin the rear nut until it pulls the rod out to the front but and then you are done right? Is there anything you have to physically do to hold the flapper closed?

Leave the cowl on
hold the flapper with your finger
Its 2 turns

Photos of my install. :) went very smoothly. all the spark plugs and the WGA changed out in about an hour and a half and no need to remove the cowl. plus I had time to take it for a spin and get some Datalogs to Adam.

All done. mine went well, If anyone needs any help let me know.:)

Did you watch Adams video? He has it explained pretty clear. This is honestly easier then changing your oil.
Yes I've watched it many times... I'm just not understanding what it means to hold the flapper closed and that is not being explained. I understand the preload, the install etc. I've had the car apart now twice with complications.

Thanks and thanks for bearing with me. Mids for me starting tomorrow night so I'm going to install this to stay awake! We will see if I can overcome these Downpipe bolts!
