Def put a rag in that intake pipe.
There is a bolt on the top of that hard line that you can remove and you will gain a 1/2inch more room to get the heat shield off. Just keep fighting with it, It will come off. It's just as bad getting it back on as well.
Thanks for the advise... I already took that off hoping I would gain some room but I still failed to get it off. I had to button it all back up... Except I couldn't get the bolt underneath threaded back on and I ended up slicing my finger open as well.
To get any room I think I really have to get the Downpipe heat shield off which means removing the o2 sensors... Which gives me more questions.
How do you take the cable off the o2 sensor? Do you just pull on it... Worried about the cable before I attempt to unscrew it. I already know I need to soak it.
Also my biggest problem getting the Downpipe heatshield off is the bolts on the right side... I just can't reach them, even with my pivot sockets. The ones on the left are easy. My hands are all sore and cut up and I really don't like taking off that cowl. Those clips bite into the plastic and are hard to take on and off without mangling the plastic.
Also, since I have the DHM race bar, the headlight mount clips wiggle more making it much harder to reinstall the headlights. When I attempt this again I need to line everything up. Is the heatshield possible to remove if I can get the Downpipe shield off?
