30whp, lol. I'm the only one breaking parts because I'm one of like 3-4 people I know that goto the track to run faster than 14.8. And one of the guys sold his car after the clutch was giving up on drag radials.
Like i said... If ford was to hand you a bill for $800 on a HPFP that failed because you increased the load on it by 12%, you'd get a feel for how i feel about it. Me personally, I felt they should have replaced it. Its not a big turbo 300whp car. Its 12 months old. It has 22k miles.
The Fist isn't the only car built like this... Srt4's do the samething. They shear motor mount bolts. Camaro SS's bend read control arms BONE STOCK at the track.
Its not the end of the world. 45 minutes, $160 axle and its done. But... I just feel like when a company ( any company ) sells a performance car, they should fix it if it breaks while "performing", lol. Like the first GT-R's that ate transaxles from using the factory launch control, and nissan denied those claims as well, lol. $25k trans, broke using factory launch control.
I'm actually disappointed with the dealer/techs more than ford. The real issue is warranty pay vs customer pay. And "Carlos" didn't want to it and make reasonable money, they wanted to make customer pay. They were REALLY QUICK to offer to do the work for only $145. Basically $145 an hour.
Did I mention that the ford dealers can't get the cv axle until after New years ? That means the car sits until Jan and they'd be paying for a rental.
Just letting you guys know what to expect, I was told Ford requires pictures of every part of the car emailed to them to get approved for warranty work. A downpipe, an intercooler, and I'm sure an air intake would have made their mind up, if the techs being pussys and scared to work on a fwd turbo car didn't make up there mind before they even pulled it in.
Guess we should all be corvette guys and drive around doing 40mph in 50mph zones in fear of voiding our warranties for asking the performance car to.... Perform.
