I just got my AP3, I updated it, and then installed it... and I don't really have 'map slots'. I plugged it in, it downloaded the stock, and installed the one I chose (Stage 1 93 220). There's a menu item for installing other maps, but no economy map, and it contains every OTS map (stage 0-3, 91/93, valet and anti theft). Can someone explain to dumb me how to narrow things down and just have a couple slots, and where one can find the economy map? Or do I need to download it from Cobb?
And before I tell you the wrong information, you're talking the switching of maps via the cruise control buttons? Is that correct?

I can double-check tomorrow if no one else confirms/denies, but I'm pretty sure it still is. The difference is that now the default slot when loading a tune is the power slot whereas before the default was the economy and everyone had to change slots right away. It got me every time.

ATR users can specify whichever slot they want, which is kind of neat for those that are using multiple slots for testing or different fuel blends.
Adam does that for you too. He made the performance map the intial map and then slot 2 is the economy map.

Here's my question, has anyone tested burnout mode ?

I'm kinda of interested to try that at the track. Since I can seem to get my tires hot to save my life.

Oh, no, I was talking about on the AP3, I didn't know you could switch via cruise control buttons... my kit didn't come with much in the way of instructions, just a quick start guide that tells you how to make the initial install, and thats it o_O

Yeah you change maps via the cruise control buttons. I'm on the road right now but you can look up the YouTube video that explains it. It's using the reset button and +/- buttons, iirc

I'm a little confused on the Economy map thing now. So is the economy map still in slot 2? Or it doesn't exist? I used it all the time.
Yes it still exists...

I reviewed all changes made to v220 OTS maps with COBB's AccessTuner Race program...

As far as existing map slots for v220 OTS Maps...

Slot 1 - Performance Mode (automatically defaults to this slot after loading)

Slot 2 - Economy Mode (Fuel Targets slightly leaner then in Performance Mode / WGDC set to 0's ~6 psi max boost)

You can select between the two slots using cruise control up / down which will indicate which the slot # selected on tach (i.e. 1000rpm= slot 1 / 2000rpm= slot 2)

btw...For those that recently updated COBB's new Access Tuner Race Program not sure if you noticed but it now has a new "Compare" feature where you can load up any primary "working" map and then load another map you'd like to compare it to ...This will highlight all changes / differences between the two maps selected...Its a very useful new feature and glad to see COBB added this!

Another dumb question... previously on the forums, I've read that for Stage 2, the only hardware requirement is an improved intercooler, but Cobb's 220 notes say:

Stage2 93 v220
o Fuel Requirements: 93 or 94 OCT (98 RON) fuel minimum
o Exhaust Requirements: Stock or COBB catback exhaust system
o Intake Requirements: COBB intake system with COBB front mount intercooler system
o Boost Targets: 21.5psi peak tapering down to 13.5psi by redline +/- 1.5psi

Opinions?

Intercooler should definitely be upgraded for stage 2 but a simple high flow intake filter will do on for the intake. I just got cobbs because modbargains is running sales on cobb parts and I got it for a good price. And I like the enhanced swoooshhh noise. Ha

I'm excited to use the "compare" feature. I used to hate flipping back and forth through 2 different windows screens.

Yeah, I got the Stage 1 kit, so I have the filter, and am planning to head over to CP-E to get their intercooler for Stage 2, with the assumption that was all I needed.... but then the notes say intake system, and I got concerned that I'd have to drop $$$ on a system hah. Hypothetically speaking if the filter swap isn't enough, what happens when running a Stage 2 map without the proper intake? Is there a specific gauge I should look at to make sure everything is a-ok?

Yeah I agree...reloading and flipping back and forth just to compare maps used to be a royal pain in the arse!

I've found the new Compare feature in ATR to be extremely helpful with updating my past custom tunes which now include COBB's new timing advance and fueling strategies...very nice

You should be fine but just have the intake temp guage and see if it's around charge temps. The high flow filter should be fine though. Get the intercooler and see, then if not you could just upgrade the intake. No damage done.

There's zero need to compare/monitor intake temps. It's already been shown multiple times that intakes do relatively little overall and aren't 'necessary' by any means. No damage will be done even running stage 3 on the OEM intake and paper filter.

Agreed. He just seemed like was looking for a definite answer abut monitoring it so I went with that. But what you said is on point. Like I said I only went with the cobb because I got a deal on it. And actually lIke the look of it in the bay.

Yes, but intake temps won't tell him anything useful regarding his question of what to monitor for safety. If people want to ensure safety then their primary monitors should be ignition corrections.

Oh okay. I misunderstood him then. Thought he wanted temps related to the intake. Oh well. That's why forums are awesome. Ha.

Sorry for the dumb question, but how does this effect the cruise control/cancel/up/down toggle for those just using the v.220 OTS maps. Is 1 still my main default full power v.220 map and 2 a v.220 economy map?
