Update on working with Tune+ since installing the upgraded WGA plus utilizing Adam's pro e-tune. I used to have an issue with ignition correction on all 4 cylinders, and each cylinder would follow its own path throughout my pulls, and either advance or go negative depending on who knows why? It was not pretty to look at on datazap, and I was honestly concerned that my car might have even been defective somehow. I have never brought this concern up to anyone (my fault in retrospect), and I was curious how working with Adam might effect this particular issue. My thought process was to let him bring it up or not, and see how his tune effected this one aspect.

For the 1st time since I have been datalogging (I started this past summer) my ignition correction on all 4 cylinders is smooth and in line with one another throughout the entire pull. It looks clean and flows well as other well sorted ignition correction graphs that I have seen via datazap have appeared. Job well done.

Also and according to Virtual Dyno, I am hitting maximum whp sooner in the rev range, and my hp line remains relatively flat once peak hp is reached. It only begins to noticeably dip late in the rev range, which explains why the car now feels like it has power up top as opposed to hitting a wall late in the rev range. Very happy, again......

I'm still waiting for a warmer day to put the plugs in and retry your 2nd tune, right now I have gone back to Cobb OTS Stage 3 to get rid of the surging issues

Give me a few months Adam, I'm waiting on parts and time to install them before I call you up....
I tuned a few new customers last week, was looking for their feedback haha. Look forward to working with you.

What is the benefit of the WGA? I'll be reading into the depths of the thread, but it would be nice to hear from you, Adam..

Edit: Read the whole thread, nevermind.

Couple things: I'm planning on going either ATP/Cyborg/DHM Quickspool. For this reason, I was going to get a downpipe. I also want the sound... I think I'll likely get more personal enjoyment out of the added sound than I would the small difference in power.

If I'm going to end up going BT, is the WGA something that would work with a turbo that isn't a hybrid? would there be any benefit?

Unfortunately anything that isn't a stock based turbo the actuator won't work. For DHM's kit it shoudl come with an EWG anyhow.

So I figured I'd finally post a review now that I've been driving on my final E30 tune for a couple weeks....

Only mods I have are a MAP intercooler, a panel filter, and an AccessPort. I was running the Cobb Stage 2 map and had only been using it for about a week (along with the IC) before I contacted Adam for a tune. He sent me some base maps and it only took a few datalogs or so to get it finalized on pump gas. I filled up with E30 and after a few more datalogs we were all done. His responses were quick and the whole process was painless.

The final tunes are nice, the pump gas one had a noticeable bump over the Stage 2 maps, but honestly I only ran that map for about a 1/4 tank of gas. The final E30 map is really nice, the car feels quite a bit different. Traction is mostly non-existent in first and it hunts for traction if you hit it in second. It was totally worth getting a Tune+ tune over the Cobb maps (and totally worth the hassle of going to an ethanol station for fill-ups). It feels like a pretty quick car now! I'd tout Virtual Dyno numbers but I never took any baseline ones and am not eager to fill up with 91 just to load Cobb maps to compare lol, but you don't need graphs to feel the extra power.

There only issues I ran into were discovering the part-throttle surging that so many tuned people spoke of. Yes, you will get it and yes it is kinda annoying. I've learned to deal with it better by getting the feel of how much throttle you can give before the car starts surging. But if you really desire stock-like manners, you'll probably be lusting for an upgraded WGA like myself. Only other tiny issue I had was when I take off from a stop, the car feels like it wants to stall out a little easier. It's not bad, and no worse than some other stock cars I've owned, but the stock/Cobb Fiesta tunes seemed like you could almost let out the clutch and the car would just roll forward. Adam tried adding more throttle input for me to help with it, but I found that made it feel odd when cruising at speed since you'd barely touch the throttle and it would want to leap forward, so I opted to take out the adjustments and just get used to the new feel. Again, its not very bad, I just wanted to describe it in case someone comes in expecting the car to feel exactly like stock except with more power....it's close, but it will still be a little different. Other than these 2 things, driveability is great though.

Anyways, so TL;DR Cliff Notes: Totally worth it, great support, way more power over Cobb maps, mostly stock-like driving manners.

What is this surging people are talking about again? Can anybody tell me in layman's terms?

Thanks Adam. I probably should have pointed out that I didn't continue to ask Adam about the issue, I half-wondered if I was being too picky and figured I'd just get used to it after a week or deal with it when I buy the WGA and need a re-tune if I still was bothered by it then. It wasn't like he just told me to take it or leave it or anything.

Basically, when you give a certain amount of part throttle input (say like ~half throttle), it feels like you are continuously flooring it and letting off every half-second or something like that instead of a smooth acceleration. You can combat it by giving it less or more throttle.

Oh okay, I guess I do have a certain amount of that. Since I've put my winter tires there hasn't been a lot of spirited driving, unfortunately. I do have the IWG from Adam that I plan to install in the spring. That is suppose to take care of the surging, or so I hear.

Ditto to all of the above... I get it sometimes, not overly annoying though. Sitting on the IWG until warmer weather hits, then I'll do my next round of mods :)

Got my tune dialed in these past couple of weeks and I am very impressed with the results compared to the Cobb OTS stage 3 tune. I would email Adam a new log each night and he had one in my inbox the next morning. It only took 4 revisions total for 93 and e30 maps, and I was good to go!

Power is delivered more linearly; I have useable torque on the low end without automatically shredding tires, and the car just feels more responsive altogether. I will be installing colder plugs and upgraded WGA soon to address the surging issue, but I am just enjoying how the car drives at this point.

Looking forward to working with you again, Adam!

I just bought a lifetime tune from Adam and he responded within an he of my purchase. I only bought it yesterday so I'm on my first revision, im a complete noob at this so I didn't understand shit but Adam was patient and so far has been amazing. Adam responds to my emails within an hr and is very polite, clear and concise. Even on his base map he sent me my car is feeling a lot different. Thanks buddy!
